If you’ve visited ReincarnationResearch.com before, you may notice some changes. The site you know — the 320+ case archive built over decades by Dr. Walter Semkiw — is still here. Every case, every article, every piece of Walter’s original work remains intact and accessible.

What’s new is the institutional home behind it.

What Happened

When Dr. Walter Semkiw passed in June 2024, the future of this archive and the community he built was uncertain. In January 2026, the Institute for Life Continuity Studies (ILCS) was incorporated as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit to provide a permanent home for this work — with permission from Walter’s family estate.

ILCS is not a replacement for Walter. No one replaces Walter. ILCS is a structure built to ensure his work endures, evolves responsibly, and reaches the people who need it.

What We’ve Done So Far

In the past few months, we’ve made a series of updates to modernize the archive while respecting its history:

🏛️ Institutional Foundation

Incorporated ILCS as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit (January 26, 2026)
Assembled a formal Advisory Board — every member originally selected by Walter himself
Established the dual-track methodology, evidence labeling system (A–F), and 10-Point Validation Matrix as formal institutional standards
Launched Reincarnation.info as the primary ILCS website for education, community, and new content

The Reincarnation Case Map — All 320 cases plotted on an interactive world map with a timeline slider spanning 3000 BCE to 2025 CE, confidence-level filtering, category filters, and a proximity analyzer for exploring geographic overlaps between souls
The Case Builder — A guided tool for documenting and investigating reincarnation cases with structured evidence prompts (BETA)
AI Case Analysis — An experimental tool that helps label evidence fragments using the A–F system, with all AI outputs transparently marked as Grade E (supportive only)

Every post and page on this site now carries an ILCS archive banner linking visitors to the new methodology, tools, and support pages
All 198 cases involving the work of Kevin Ryerson and Ahtun Re are now marked with a Reignite banner — Kevin continues this work through ILCS
The top 25 most-viewed cases (based on historical traffic data) are now highlighted with ranked badges so visitors can find the archive’s most impactful content
Outdated contact information has been updated across the site — old email addresses and donation links now point to current ILCS channels
The Board of Directors, Advisory Board, and International Advisory Board pages have been updated with current ILCS leadership while preserving Walter’s original appointments with full attribution
A comprehensive Walter Semkiw Memorial Archive index has been published on Reincarnation.info, cataloging all 320 cases by category

What Has Not Changed

Walter’s original case write-ups remain exactly as he wrote them. We have not edited his words, reframed his conclusions, or removed any content. Where we’ve added context — such as ILCS banners, updated contact information, or continuation notes — these additions are clearly marked and separated from the original material.

The archive remains free and open to everyone. No paywall. No login required. That will not change.

A Note About Walter

Everything here exists because of Walter Semkiw. His books — Return of the Revolutionaries, Born Again, and Origin of the Soul — brought this research to a wider audience. His 10-Point Validation Matrix gave the field a structured framework. His partnership with Kevin Ryerson opened investigative pathways that are still producing insights today.

Walter was a visionary, a scholar, and a tireless advocate for the idea that understanding reincarnation could create a more peaceful world. ILCS exists to honor that vision — with the same discipline, care, and respect he brought to every case he published.

Baseball Legend David Ortiz, the Reincarnation of Babe Ruth, is Shot

Years ago, David Ortiz was identified as the reincarnation of Babe Ruth. David Ortiz had been in the news in 2019 due to being shot and almost killed in his homeland of the Dominican Republic, in a case of mistaken identity. David’s nickname is “Big Papi,” similar to Ruth’s nickname, “The Bambino.”

Babe Ruth was born in 1895. He began his career with the Boston Red Sox and became American baseball’s ultimate home run hero. Ruth died in 1948.

David Ortiz was born in 1975 in the Dominican Republic. Like Ruth, he is famous for his ability to hit baseballs out of the ball park. David Ortiz is an All-Star baseball player, much as Ruth was. Interestingly, Ortiz played for the Boston Red Sox, just like Babe Ruth.

Evidence and Principles of Reincarnation-Understanding Past Lives

Physical Resemblance in Reincarnation Cases: There is a similarity in the facial features of Babe Ruth and David Ortiz.

Past Life Talent, Behavior and Abilities: The baseball home run ability of Babe Ruth has been replicated in the life of David Ortiz. Both Ruth and Ortiz played for the Boston Red Sox.

Change in Nationality and Race: Babe Ruth was a Caucasian born in Baltimore, Maryland, in the United States. David Ortiz, a Hispanic, was born in the Dominican Republic of the Caribbean Islands. Understanding that souls can be born in different nations, cultures, religions and ethnic backgrounds from one lifetime to another can help create a more peaceful world, as most wars are based on differences in these cultural markers of identity.

Soul Guidance, Spiritual Communication and Spirit Beings in Reincarnation Cases-Introduction

In some reincarnation cases, past life information has been directly obtained through spiritual or telepathic communication. Intuitions can be seen as a form of spiritual communication.

In addition, spirit being intervention can be observed in the bringing reincarnation information to light, such as by leading a person to a physical location where past life information is revealed. At a past life location, an individual may find evidence of past lives or they can experience geographic memories, such as past life memories or emotions related to that location.

Ghosts can even appear to convey past life information, as depicted in the diagram to the right.

Spirit beings can also communicate with humans through dreams. Souls can predict or announce their next incarnation through in this way, which Ian Stevenson, MD, termed “announcing dreams.” In this case the soul who is planning to incarnate presents a dream to a family member, usually the future mother, and communicates its intention to be born within that family. Announcing dreams occurred in 22% of Stevenson’s reincarnation cases.

Spirit beings can also create symbolic messages by orchestrating meaningful coincidences, which Carl Jung called synchronicities or synchronistic events.

A most dramatic example of spirit being intervention involves the movement of a book, which shed light on a past life. Psychokinesis is the term used to describe movement of physical objects by spiritual forces. Psychokinesis is observed in the Reincarnation Case of Louise Vanderbilt | Wayne Peterson.

The symbol for reincarnation with spirit being guidance is a person surrounded by two circles, which represent spirit beings or the person’s own soul, transmitting past life information or clues to a past life.
