Reincarnation, Mohammed & the Founding of Islam

Islam reincarnation past lives cresent moonReincarnation can also be found in the teachings of Islam, a religion established by the Prophet Mohammed. Mohammed was born in 570 A.D. into a prominent family that served as care takers of the holy site of Mecca, which tradition holds was built by Abraham. Mohammed married his employer, a businesswoman named Khaadija; Mohammed was 25 and Khaadija 40. Islam’s holy text is the Quran (or Koran), which means the “Recital” or “Reading.” In essence, the Quran is a channeled work, transmitted from God through Mohammed.

Mohammed’s first revelation occurred when he was 40 years old in 610 A.D. He then began recording verses which, over time, became the Quran. As this spiritual movement grew, Mohammed and his followers became the subjects of persecution and they had to flee Mecca in 622 A.D., taking refuge in Medina. Mohammed was a warrior as well as prophet and led his people into battle many times. Eventually Mohammed brought his followers back to Mecca, today’s shrine of Islam.

Reincarnation in the Quran

There are several references in the Quran that seem to refer to reincarnation. Let us review a few of these passages.

“And when his body falleth off altogether, as an old fish-shell, his soul doeth well by releasing, and formeth a new one instead…The person of man is only a mask which the soul putteth on for a season; it weareth its proper time and then is cast off, and another is worn in its stead.” (1)

“God generates beings, and sends them back over and over again, til they return to him.” (2)

“How can you make denial of Allah, who made you live again when you died, will make you dead again, and then alive again, until you finally return to him?” (3)

“God is the one who created you all, then provided you sustenance, then will cause you to die, then will bring you to life.” (4)

“Surely it is God who splits the seed and the stone, bringing the living from the dead; and it is God who brings the dead from living.”(5)

Quran & Renewal of Relationships through Reincarnation: Soul Groups

“I tell you, of a truth, that the spirits which now have affinity shall be kindred together, although they all meet in new persons and names.” (6)

This last verse is one of my favorites seems to allude to the existence of soul groups, of people who have emotional connections returning to life with those they have known before.  In addition to passages on reincarnation, the Koran also references karma:

Quran, Reincarnation & Karma

scales“God does not compel a soul to do what is beyond its capacity: it gets what it has earned, and is responsible for what it deserves.” (7)

“Every soul will be brought face to face with the good that it has done and with the evil it has done.” (8)

“And We will set up the scales of justice for the day of reckoning. And no soul shall be wronged in anything. And be it the weight of a mustard seed, We will bring it forth: and We are well able to take account.” (9)

“For We give life to the dead, and We record what they sent before and what they left after them: and We have taken account of all things.” (10)

Quran and the Universal Human

The Quran has wonderful passages that make one think in terms of the Universal Human, where religious affiliation is minimized and one’s benevolence is deemed most important. Consider the following verse:

“Indeed, be they Muslims, Jews, Sabians, or Christians, those who believe in God and the final day and who do good have nothing to fear, and they will not grieve.” (11)

Mohammed cautioned against exclusionary religious practices, which in his day was aimed at the Christian Church. Mohammed’s point was that God should be the central theme in a person’s life, not the messengers or prophets who convey God’s words. The “Book” in this passage refers to the Bible.

“People of the Book, do not go to excess in your religion, do not say of God anything but truth. The Messiah, Jesus son of Mary, was only an Envoy of God and a Word of God bestowed on Mary, and a spirit of God.” (12)

Rumi & Reincarnation

logoJalaluddin Rumi (1207-1273), was a great Islamic and Sufi poet. Sufis are considered the esoteric holders of Islamic wisdom, much as the Kabbalists are regarded as holders of the hidden wisdom of Judaism. Rumi wrote:

“Like grass I have grown over and over again. I passed out of mineral form and lived as a plant. From plant I was lifted up to be an animal. Then I put away the animal form and took on a human shape. Why should I fear that if I died I shall be lost? For passing human form I shall attain the flowing locks and shining wings of angels. And then I shall become what no mind has ever conceived. O let me cease to exist! For non-existence only means that I shall return to Him.” (13)

Of interest, a contemporary incarnation of Rumi has been identified. To learn more, go to: Rumi | Kahlil Gibran Reincarnation Case

Rumi, Reincarnation & Christian Church Father Synesius

It is interesting to note that a Christian Church Father mused similarly about the pathway of human evolution, as did Rumi. This view suggests that the plant and animal kingdoms can serve as a stepping stone for a soul’s advancement to the stage of human development. Let us contemplate the following quotation from the Christian Church Father Synesius, Bishop of Ptolemais (370–430 AD), from his Treatise on Dreams:

“Philosophy speaks of souls being prepared by a course of transmigrations. . . When first it comes down to earth, it (the soul) embarks on this animal spirit as on a boat, and through it is brought into contact with matter.” (14)

In these passages of the Islamic poet Rumi and the Christian Father Synesius, the common theme of human evolution through repeated incarnations is hypothesized and voiced.

In the section on this website entitled Soul Evolution, issues such as whether human souls ever incarnated in the animal kingdom are addressed. My conclusion is that in contemporary times, humans do not reincarnate as animals.

Reincarnation in the New Testament and Christianity

Reincarnation, Jesus, the Bible, New Testament & Christian Doctrine

Article by: Walter Semkiw, MD, from Born Again and Return of the Revolutionaries

Jesus & Reincarnation

star-of-davidIn the New Testament, Jews are depicted as expecting the reincarnation of their great prophets. Indeed, these prophets were already thought to have reincarnated in times past. For example, the Jewish sect called the Samarians believed Adam reincarnated as Noah, then as Abraham, then Moses. (1)

Reincarnation of the old prophets was also on the minds of Jews at the time of Jesus. In fact, followers of Jesus thought that he was a reincarnated prophet. Let us reflect on the following passage from the Gospel of Matthew:

“When Jesus came into coasts of Cesarea Philippi, he asked disciples, saying, ‘Whom do men say I, the Son of man, am?’ And they said, ‘Some say that thou art John the Baptist, some, Elias; and others, Jeremias, or one of the prophets.’” (Matthew 16:13–4)

Herod, who was in command of Jerusalem under the Romans, also speculated who Jesus may have previously been. Herod also thought Jesus might have been one of the old prophets.

When Jesus announced that he was the Jewish Messiah, his followers became confused, as the scriptures stated the prophet Elias (or Elijah in Greek) would return and precede the coming of the Messiah. The disciples put this apparent discrepancy to Jesus. The disciples pointed out:

“Why then say the scribes that Elias must come first. And Jesus answered and said unto them, Elias truly shall first come, and restore all things. But I say unto you, That Elias is come already, and they knew him not. . . . Then the disciples understood that he spake unto them of John the Baptist.” (Matthew 17:9–13)

In another section of the New Testament, Jesus unequivocally states that John the Baptist is the reincarnation of the prophet Elias: “Among them that are born of women there hath not risen a greater than John the Baptist. . . . And if ye will receive it, this is Elias. . . . He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.” (Matthew 11:11–15)

Reincarnation is alluded to in a section of the New Testament in which the disciples ask Jesus why a man was born blind. The disciples asked,

“Which did sin, this man or his parents?” (John 9:34)

This passage implies that the blind man had a previous incarnation where he had the opportunity to commit a sin that would result in the karmic consequence of blindness. Without the premise of reincarnation, how could the blind man commit a sin responsible for his handicap, as the man was blind from birth? Jesus didn’t dispute the reasoning of the disciples, though he stated that the blindness was due to other factors.

Reincarnation and the Early Christian Church Fathers

christianity-reincarnationIn addition to these citations from the New Testament, evidence shows that reincarnation was part of the Church’s early doctrine and was promoted by Church Fathers, writers who established Christian doctrine prior to the eighth century and whose works were used to disseminate Christian ideas to populations of the Roman Empire. To be considered a Church Father one had to meet the following criteria. One had to lead a holy life;, one’s writings had do be free of doctrinal error; one’s interpretation of Christian doctrine was deemed to be exemplary; and one’s writings had to have approval of the Church.

A number of Christian Church Fathers believed in and wrote about reincarnation:

St. Justin Martyr (100–165 A.D.) expressly stated that the soul inhabits more than one human body.  (2)

Origen (185–254 A.D.), who was considered by St. Jerome as “the greatest teacher of the Church after the Apostles,” defended the idea that the soul exists before the body, fundamental to the concept of reincarnation. (3)

Another Church Father, St. Gregory, Bishop of Nyssa (257–332 A.D.), wrote: “It is absolutely necessary that the soul should be healed and purified, and if this does not take place during its life on earth it must be accomplished in future lives. . . . The soul . . . is immaterial and invisible in nature, it at one time puts off one body . . . and exchanges it for a second.” (4)

St. Gregory also wrote: “Every soul comes into this world strengthened by the victories or weakened by the defeats of its previous life.” (5)

St. Augustine (354–430 A.D.), one of the greatest theologians of the Christian church, speculated that philosopher Plotinus was the reincarnation of Plato. St. Augustine wrote: “The message of Plato . . . now shines forth mainly in Plotinus, a Platonist so like his master that one would think . . . that Plato is born again in Plotinus.” (6)

Other Church Fathers who demonstrated a belief in reincarnation included Synesius (the Bishop of Ptolemais), St. Ambrose, Pope Gregory I, Jerome, St. Athanasius, St. Basil, St. John Chrysostom, St. Gregory of Nazianzus, and Clement of Alexandria. (7)

How Reincarnation was Removed from Christian Doctrine

justinianIf the belief in the pre-existence of souls and reincarnation was prominent in the early Christian Church, why is it not present in contemporary doctrine?

The reason is that a Roman Emperor named Justinian made arrangements for reincarnation to be removed from official Church doctrine in 553 A.D.

In the early centuries of the Christian Church, disputes over doctrine were settled by bishops of the Church, through meetings called Ecumenical Councils. These Councils were major gatherings, which occurred infrequently, sometimes once in a hundred years. To understand the story of reincarnation and the Christian Church, we must go back in time to the year 330 A.D.

In that year, Constantine the Great moved the capital of the Roman Empire from Rome to Constantinople, a city which today is called Istanbul. As a result, two centers of the Christian Church developed; the Western Church in Rome and the Eastern Church in Constantinople. The emperors of Constantinople controlled the Eastern Church and dictated policy as they pleased.

As an example, the Constantinople Emperor Leo III prohibited images and portraits from being kept in churches, so icons, paintings of saints, which today are so admired for their beauty, had to be removed from places of worship.  On the other hand, the Western Church headquartered in Rome refused to give up icons. Similarly, the Constantinople Emperor Justinian determined Church policy regarding reincarnation.

In the sixth century, the Church was divided over the issue of reincarnation. Western bishops in Rome believed in pre-existence of the soul while Eastern bishops were opposed to it. Emperor Justinian, who controlled the Eastern Church, was against the doctrine of reincarnation. As an example of his interference in Church matters, Justinian excommunicated the Church Father Origen, who openly supported the idea of reincarnation.

To further his agenda, Justinian convened the Fifth Ecumenical Council in 553 A.D., with only six bishops of the Western Church in attendance. On the other hand, 159 bishops of the Eastern Church, which Justinian controlled, were present.  An image of Justinian is provided to the right.

It was at this meeting that pre-existence of the soul was voted out of Church doctrine. Emperor Justinian manipulated Church doctrine by stacking the voting deck in his favor.

Pope Vigilius protested this turn of events and demanded equal representation between Eastern and Western bishops. Though the Pope was present in Constantinople at the time of the Fifth Ecumenical Council, he boycotted the Council in protest. Justinian not only ignored Pope Vigilius, but persecuted him.

The Catholic Encyclopedia states that the conflict between the Emperor Justinian and the Pope was so extreme that the Pope suffered many indignities at the hands of the emperor and was almost killed.

Can you conceive today that a politician or head of state could dictate church policy to the Pope or that the Pope would boycott the biggest meeting at the Vatican in a hundred years? Yet this is what happened.

As a result, the Catholic Encyclopedia states, the Council called by Justinian was not a true Ecumenical Council, so the removal of pre-existence of the soul as a Church doctrine should not be considered an actual decree of the Ecumenical Council. (8, 9)

The Split of the Roman Catholic & Greek Orthodox Christianity-Branches of the Christian Church Excommunicate One Another

The rift between the Eastern and Western Church increased in 1054 when the two branches of the Christian Church excommunicated each other. When Christian Crusaders from the Western Church were on their way to capture Jerusalem from the Muslims, they made a point to raze the Christian city of Constantinople. In other words, the Western Christian Church waged war against the Eastern Christian Church.

Following that episode, a permanent split occurred and the Western Church became the Roman Catholic Church, while the Eastern Orthodox Church went its own way. Even today, members of the Eastern Christian Church do not consider the Pope in Rome as their leader. So we see that the political fragmentation within the Eastern and Western branches of the Christian Church is as real today as it was in the time of Emperor Justinian and Pope Vigilius.

The Christian Inquisition, Salem Witch Trials & Psychic Abilities

In addition to Christian leaders fighting among themselves, there are disturbing examples of Christians fighting with those opposed to their doctrines.

The Inquisition was established by a series of Papal decrees between 1227 and 1235 to confront dissident religious movements. In this effort, Pope Innocent IV authorized the use of torture in 1252. Later, the persecution of presumed witches in Europe between 1450 and 1700 arose as orthodox Christianity went through its anxieties resulting from Martin Luther’s Reformation and the emerging scientific paradigm.

The Papal decree Summis Desiderantes, issued by Pope Innocent VIII in 1484, stimulated another wave of torture and executions. This Papal dissertation was anti-feminine and condemned witches. Thousands of innocent women were executed based on confessions obtained through torture.

The last outbreak of this persecution occurred in Salem, Massachusetts, in 1692. Twenty women were executed after a group of young girls became emotional or hysterical while playing at magic. In reality, some of those considered witches in the past may have been girls who had psychic gifts but who were perceived as dangerous by those who were not similarly talented. Today, many women who participate in classes designed to stimulate intuition and psychic abilities remember past lives in which they were persecuted and burned at the stake. It can be dangerous to be an evolved being in a relatively primitive world.

Christian Church Doctrine and the Suppression of Reincarnation

logoIn sum, reincarnation has appeared in Christian church doctrine, but reincarnation as been suppressed in the contemporary Church’s philosophy.  One reason is that if reincarnation is acknowledged and research demonstrates that souls can change religion from one incarnation to another, a religion’s claim to exclusive truth is negated.

Still, evidence of reincarnation can help fulfill one of Christianity’s greatest doctrines, that we are indeed brothers and sisters, and that we should love one another as such.

Reincarnation Cases of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart | Herbie Hancock & Leopold Mozart | Wayne Shorter

Proposed by: Walter Semkiw, MD

Affirmed by: Spirit Guide or Spirit Being Ahtun Re in a Ryerson-Semkiw Reincarnation Research Session

Article by: Walter Semkiw, MD

Denise Railla attended a presentation in Los Angeles that I did with Hans Christian King in 2005, who the Miami Herald has named as one of the top 5 psychics in the United States. Hans has worked with Yale-trained psychiatrist Brian Weiss, MD, the best-selling author of Many Lives, Many Masters, who Oprah Winfrey has promoted. Has has been identified as the reincarnation of Nostradamus, a past life match Hans supports. To learn more, go to the: Reincarnation Case of Nostradamus Hans Christian King

After the presentation, Denise approached me and told me that she would like to introduce me to the jazz legend Herbie Hancock. Denise and Herbie, well as Herbie’s wife, Gigi, are Buddhists who chant together. Denise thought Herbie would be interested in reincarnation research. Denise Railla is the photographer and visual artist who created our logo, Passages through Lifetimes, which is featured to the right.  Denise died too soon at the age of 57. Her art, though will live on through the ReincarnationResearch.com website.

Herbie Hancock, a Child Prodigy Pianist, as the Reincarnation of Amadeus Mozart

As the opportunity of meeting of Herbie Hancock had arisen, I wanted to research a past life for Mr. Hancock. I read that Herbie was a child prodigy pianist, born in Chicago, Illinois, my own home town. My father, though a physician by profession, was also a gifted pianist. My childhood is marked with evening memories of hearing my father, Zenobius, a Ukrainian immigrant, play Chopin downstairs on the piano as I went to sleep.  As a medical student, I purchased student tickets for the Chicago Symphony and my father would go to their concerts on frigid Chicago Wednesday evenings.

Herbie’s parents were Wayman Hancock, a meat inspector, and Winne Hancock, a secretary. As such, he was not born into a musical family, so Herbie’s talent cannot be explained by genetics or family coaching.

I learned that at the age of 11, Herbie was selected to be a piano soloist who played piano with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. He performed the first movement of Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 26 in D Major, K 583 (Coronation). Later, when I met Herbie, he shared that originally, he was supposed to play a different Mozart piano piece with the Chicago Symphony, but with only two weeks’ notice, he was informed that the program had been changed and that Herbie had to learn Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 26. Herbie shared that this was an extraordinary demand on an 11 year old, but he did it, successfully.

When I met Herbie in 2006, he told me that though he was a child prodigy pianist who could play the music of many composers, he had a special understanding and talent for playing Mozart’s piano music. Reincarnation research has revealed that souls replicate talent and abilities from past lifetimes, as demonstrated in the Paul Gauguin | Peter Teekamp reincarnation case.

I also learned that Herbie is best friends with Wayne Shorter, a world famous saxophonist. Wayne and Herbie were musicians in the quartet lead by Miles Davis. Wayne has served as a a mentor to Herbie Hancock.

Before I met Herbie, based on my reading of his biography on the Internet and learning that he was a child prodigy pianist who at 11 years of age played a Mozart composition with the Chicago Symphony, I wondered if Herbie has a past life connection with Amadeus Mozart.

Wayne Shorter as the Reincarnation of Leopold Mozart, the Father and Teacher of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart

As such, I read about Amadeus Mozart and his life. I realized that a physical resemblance existed between Amadeus Mozart and Herbie Hancock. I also saw a physical resemblance between Leopold Mozart, the father of Amadeus Mozart and Wayne Shorter. Leopold taught music and mentored Amadeus, much as Wayne Shorter has mentored Herbie. Click on images to enlarge them.

Kevin Ryerson is the trance medium who is featured in four of Shirley MacLaine’s books. Kevin channels a spirit guide named Ahtun Re, who has demonstrated to me the ability to make past life matches with a high degree of accuracy. I have worked with Kevin and Ahtun Re since 2001 and have had sessions with them on a monthly basis.

In a session with Kevin Ryerson, I asked Ahtun Re if Herbie is the reincarnation of Amadeus Mozart, which he affirmed. I then asked is Wayne Shorter was the father of Amadeus Mozart, Leopold, which Ahtun Re also affirmed.

Wayne Shorter’s Nickname is “Mozart”

Shortly thereafter, I contacted Denise to tell her of these proposed past life matches that were confirmed by Ahtun Re. I was pleasantly surprised when Denise enthusiastically shared that Herbie Hancock’s nickname for Wayne Shorter has been “Mozart,” which I was not aware of when I made the hypotheses that Herbie and Wayne are the reincarnations of Amadeus and Leopold Mozart. As such, these cases can be seen as a form of affinity cases, in which people are attracted to their own past lifetimes or have an intuitive connection to specific past lifetimes. Other affinity cases include:

Dorothy Dandridge | Halle Berry

Oliver and Hardy | Josh and Danny Bacher

A Past Life for Michael Jackson

3 Michael Jackson Reincarnation Past Life Story 3Many people have written to me forwarding the hypothesis that Michael Jackson is the reincarnation of Amadeus Mozart, as both were childhood prodigy musicians and perceived as eccentric. This hypothesis did not make much sense to me, as Michael Jackson was a child prodigy vocalist, not a pianist. Further, I did not see a physical resemblance between Amadeus Mozart and Michael Jackson.

In a session with Kevin Ryerson, Ahtun Re advised that Michael Jackson was not Mozart. I then asked who Jackson was in a past lifetime. Ahtun Re told me that Jackson was a French singer that was close to the playwright, Moliere. After doing some reading on the Moliere, Ahtun Re confirmed my hypothesis that Michael Jackson is the the reincarnation of singer French singer Charles Dassoucy. To review this case, go to:

Reincarnation Case of Charles Dassoucy | Michael Jackson

Herbie Hancock Reincarnation Case & Mozart’s Eccentricities

When I met Herbie and Gigi Hancock, they both impressed me as very down-to-earth, nice and stable people. This seemed inconsistent with the way Amadeus Mozart was portrayed in the movie Amadeus. In a session with Kevin Ryerson, I asked Ahtun Re about this inconsistency. I was told that Mozart’s eccentricities were greatly exaggerated. Ahtun Re did say that Amadeus Mozart did experience anxiety over the need to find patrons to support him financially. This insecurity could have led to Amadeus demonstrating anxiety, which may have led to this misconception regarding his personality.

Principles of Reincarnation

Physical Resemblance in Reincarnation Cases: Resemblances are observed in the facial features of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Herbie Hancock, as well as between Leopold Mozart and Wayne Shorter.

Innate Past Life Talent: The musical talent of Leopold Mozart and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart are reflected in the careers of Wayne Shorter and Amadeus Mozart.

Relationships Renewed through Reincarnation: Leopold Mozart was the father and music teacher of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Wayne Shorter and Herbie Hancock, past-life father and son, were reunited through their collaboration with Miles Davis. Wayne Shorter has been a mentor to Herbie Hancock, just as Leopold Mozart was the father and music teacher of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Though I did not know this before Ahtun Re affirmed the past life connections between Leopold | Wayne and Amadeus | Herbie, Denise Railla revealed that Wayne’s nickname for years has been “Mozart.”

Gigi Hancock, the wife of Herbie Hancock, was also a relative of Leopold and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.

Change in Race, Religion, Nationality and Ethnic Affiliation: Leopold and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart were German Caucasians, while both Wayne Shorter and Herbie Hancock are African Americans. The Mozarts were born into a Christian family, while Herbie Hancock is a practicing Buddhist. Knowledge that souls can change race, religion and nationality can help create a more peaceful world, as most conflicts are based on differences in these cultural markers of identity. An important case in this regard is the:

Reincarnation Cases of Microsoft Founders Basile Bouchon | Bill Gates & Jacques Vaucanson | Paul Allen with the Reincarnation Cases of Steve Jobs & Steve Wozniak

Revealed by: Spirit Guide or Spirit Being Ahtun Re in a Ryerson-Semkiw Reincarnation Research Session

Article by: Walter Semkiw, MD

Bill Gates as the Reincarnation of Basile Bouchon

In a session with Kevin Ryerson, who channels a spirit being or spirit guide named Ahtun Re who has demonstrated the ability to make accurate past life identifications, I asked Ahtun Re who Bill Gates was in a past incarnation. Bill Gates and Paul Allen in their younger years are pictured to the right. Gates is on the left side.

Ahtun Re told me that Bill Gates in a past lifetime had invented a control system for a textile loom using perforated paper. This led to the first automated machine, a precursor to the computer. After doing a little research, in a subsequent session with Kevin, Ahtun Re affirmed that Bill Gates in a past lifetime was Basile Bouchon.

Bouchon was textile worker and the son of an musical organ maker. Organ makers used punched holes in metal cylinders to create musical programs that a mechanical organ would use to make music automatically. These were the original player pianos, which could play automatically without the need for a human operator or musician.

Basile Bouchon employed this concept, utilizing a perforated paper ribbon, to control a textile loom automatically. In essence, Bouchon created the first automated industrial machine, the precursor to the computer. The perforated paper ribbon that controlled the loom evolved into the software that Bill Gates pioneered. Unfortunately, to my knowledge, a portrait of Bouchon is not available.

Paul Allen as the Reincarnation of Jacques de Vaucanson

Though Basille Bouchon came up with the idea to use a paper ribbon imprinted with information to control a textile loom, the equipment did not work well until Jacques de Vaucanson, a French inventor, made Bouchon’s premise operational in what was called the Jacquard Loom, which became the precursor for modern industrial looms.

Ahtun Re revealed that Jacques de Vaucanson has reincarnated as Paul Allen. As such, in contemporary times, the industrial and automatic machine design team of Basille Bouchon and Jacques de Vaucanson have reincarnated as the founders of Microsoft, Bill Gates and Paul Allen.

Bill and Paul, who were childhood friends and had passions for computer programming, worked together and employed complementary skills to create the worlds biggest software company, much like Bouchon and de Vaucanson employed their talents to create the first industrial automated machine, a precursor to the computer.

As noted, I do not believe that a portrait of Basille Bouchon exists, as he was a poor loom worker when he created his invention.

Thomas Edison and J.P. Morgan Reincarnate as Elon Musk and Tim Draper

Another example of two people reincarnating together to work on joint projects involve Elon Musk and Tim Draper. Musk was Thomas Edison, whose primary financial backer was J.P. Morgan.  Morgan has reincarnated as Tim Draper, whose venture capital firm has been a primary financial backer of Elon Musk. Tim Draper, by the way, believes in reincarnation and the premise that souls reincarnate in groups to work together again on projects. To learn more, please go to:

Principles of Reincarnation & Understanding Past Lives

Physical Resemblance in Reincarnation Cases: There is similarity in bone structure of Jacques de Vaucanson and Paul Allen. There is a definite physical resemblance between Charles Babbage and Steve Jobs, as well as between Peter van Mussenchenbroch and Steve Wozniak. In addition, hand postures typical of Peter van Mussenchenbroch have been captured in photographs of Steve Wozniak.

Past Life Talent: Technology leaders of the Industrial Revolution, Basile Bouchon, Jacques de Vaucanson, Charles Babbage and Peter van Mussenchenbroch have reincarnated in the personas of Bill Gates, Paul Allen, Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak.

Change in Nationality and Ethnic Affiliation: Basile Bouchon and Jacques de Vaucanson were French, while Bill Gates and Paul Allen were born in the United States. Charles Babbage was British and Peter van Mussenchenbrock was Dutch, whereas Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak were born in the United States.

The Missile Men of India: Reincarnation Case of Tipu Sultan | Abdul Kalam with the Reincarnation Case of Haider Ali | Vikram Sarabhai and the Mysore Past Life of Wernher von Braun

The Spiritual and Scientific Life of Abdul Kalam

5-abdul-kalam-reincarnation-tipu-sultan IISIS Reincarnation Case StudyAbdul Kalam is considered a father of the Indian missile program and as such, he is often referred to as the “Missile Man.” The father of the Indian space program is Vikram Sarabhai and, in tribute, the Indian Space Research Organization’s largest facility is called the Vikram Sarabhai Space Center. Let us learn about these two leaders of Indian rocket research.

APJ Abdul Kalam grew up in the Madras island municipality of Rameswaram in the South of India. As a boy, he and his best friend, Jallaludin, would take walks at the close of the day, discussing God and spiritual matters. Though Abdul was raised a Muslim, he and Rameswaram would visit the Hindu temple of Lord Shiva. As a ritual, they walked around the temple in reverence and as they did, Jalludin and Abdul “felt a flow of energy” pass through them. (1)

Later in life, when visiting the Sivananda Ashram near the Ganges river, Abdul described “feeling intense vibrations” when he entered the ashram. (2) In another episode, Kalam described a scene in which his father arranged for a ceremony at a mosque to celebrate an advancement in his career: “I could feel the power of God flowing in a circuit through my father to me and back to God; we were all under the spell of the prayer.” (3)

A sense of the spiritual has never left APJ Kalam and he has never seen science and spirituality as conflicting interests. Indeed, Kalam has stated that for him science has always been the path to spiritual enrichment and self-realization.” (4)

Further, the fire of Shiva, the transformer, seems to flow through his veins. Fire is prominent in the writings of APJ Abdul Kalam. His autobiography is entitled, Wings of Fire, and another book he has written is called, Ignited Minds, which refers to the children of India and the potential they have to make India a sophisticated and developed nation.

Abdul Kalam has an Innate Fascination for Flight

3 abdul kalam brahmos reincarnation tipu sultanAs a boy, Abdul dreamed to fly, and like Leonardo da Vinci, he studied the flight of birds. Later in life, as a young man, Abdul entered the Madras Institute for Technology (MIT) to become an engineer. Here too, he noted a fascination for flying machines. In his autobiography, he describes his admiration for aircraft and their systems that were on display at MIT. He writes, “I felt a strange attraction towards them, and would sit near them long after other students had gone back to their hostel, admiring man’s will to fly free in the sky, like a bird.” (5)

Indeed, Kalam’s greatest ambition and desire at the time was to become an officer in the Indian Air Force. Kalam went through the application process and it was a terrible disappointment to him when he was rejected by the Air Force Selection Board, just missing the cutoff for becoming a flyer.

Though his dream of becoming a pilot was thwarted, APJ Abdul Kalam took a post with the Ministry of Defense, where he became a Senior Scientific Assistant for the Directorate of Technical Development and Production (DTD&P). Kalam would not be flying aircraft, but he would be involving in designing them. In one project, Kalam led a team that developed a battlefield hovercraft and Abdul indeed flew in this devise, though only a few inches off the ground. His next developmental step involved an interview with Professor Vikram Sarabhai, as the Indian Committee for Space Research was interested in hiring Kalam for the post of “Rocket Engineer.”

Abdul Kalam and Vikram Sarabhai Experince a Natural Sympathy

vikram sarabhai as reincarnation of haider aliAn immediate rapport developed between Kalam and Sarabhai. Kalam was impressed with Sarabhai’s warmth, perceptive nature, contagious optimism and vision. Sarabhai, Kalam observed over time, was an innovator, experimenter and leader who inspired the people under him by demonstrating faith and trust that they would succeed. Rather than giving directions, Sarabhai encouraged the exchange of ideas which led to a collective solution to a problem.

The tone in which Kalam writes of Vikram Sarabhai reveals that over the years, Abdul developed a deep love and admiration for Sarabhai, much more so than with any other professional colleague. He was deeply saddened when Vikram Sarabhai suddenly and unexpectedly died of a myocardial infarction at the age of 52, at the prime of his career. Kalam later referred to Vikram Sarabhai as the Mahatma Gandhi of Indian science.

Abdul Kalam’s Pride in Military Rockets of Tipu Sultan displayed at NASA

Reincarnation Case Study Tipu Sultan Rockets British Reincarnation Abdul KalamIn addition to his fascination with flight, Abdul Kalam has maintained an ardent passion for India to become self sufficient and that societal advancements be made through the development of indigenous technology, not from technology imported from the Western world. Indeed, one of his most treasured experiences derives from a Western power’s acknowledgement of India’s pioneering contributions to field of missile technology.

The setting for this experience is NASA’s Wallops Flight Facility, in Maryland. As a leading engineer in India’s missile program, Kalam had been invited by NASA to participate in a six month training program on rocket launching techniques.

At the Wallops center, Kalam observed a painting that was hung in the reception lobby, depicting a battle scene in which rockets are being launched against oncoming troops. Curiously, the soldiers launching the rockets were all dark-skinned, while the targets of the rockets were white-skinned troops in what appeared to be British uniforms. Kalam took a closer look and realized that the painting was of a battle between Tipu Sultan’s army and colonial British troops on Indian soil.

Tipu Sultan is considered, along with his father, Haider Ali, as a pioneer of rocket development. Kalam was quite amazed that an Indian was being honored at a NASA facility, while back home, most of his fellow Indians had forgotten about Tipu Sultan.

Though the Chinese were the first to invent rockets, which they used for ceremonial purposes, it was Haider Ali and Tipu Sultan who are accredited with developing rockets for military purposes. The innovation that made the rockets used by Haider Ali and Tipu Sultan more effective was the use of iron casings, which allowed the attainment of greater chamber pressures and accordingly, greater range. Some of these rockets could fly 1000 yards.

The base of the rocket consisted of an iron tube that was eight inches long and 2-3 inches in diameter. The warhead of the rocket consisted of a bamboo shaft four feet in length, though the design was altered for specific purposes and effects. For example, some of Haider Ali’s rockets had pierced metal cylinder skins which would emit sparks as the rocket flew, which would set fire to objects along its path.

Abdul Kalam Admires Tipu Sultan’s Rockets at the British Firepower Royal Artillery Museum in Woolwich

5 Tipu Sultan Rocket Abdul Kalam ReincarnationTwo of Tipu Sultan’s rockets on display at the Woolwich Royal Artillery Museum in Southeast London have sword blades as warheads. Abdul Kalam made the trip to this museum view these munitions.

Tipu Sultan also developed wheeled rocket organs which could fire multiple rockets simultaneously. It is estimated that the army of Tipu Sultan had 27 brigades, which were called Kushoons. A company of 200 rocket men, called Jourks were assigned to each brigade. Tipu Sultan authored a military manual, entitled Fathul Mujahidin, in which the structure and functions of his military units were delineated.

We have seen in independently researched reincarnation cases, such as in the cases of Paul Gauguin | Peter Teekamp and John Elliotson | Neurosurgeon Norm Shealy, and Ryerson-Semkiw reincarnation cases of David Rittenhouse | Carl Sagan and Alexandra Nechita | Pablo Picasso, how interests, passions and talents can extend across lifetimes. We now observe this phenomenon in the case of Abdul Kalam, for in my work with Kevin Ryerson, Ahtun Re, the Egyptian spirit guide who has demonstrated an ability to make accurate past life matches, has confirmed that Kalam is the reincarnation of Tipu Sultan.

Ahtun Re has also confirmed that APJ Kalam’s great mentor, Vikram Sarabhai, is the reincarnation of Haider Ali, the father of Tipu Sultan. As father and son, Haider Ali and Tipu Sultan built the Indian nation of Mysore and were pioneers of military rocketry, while as mentor and student, Vikram Sarahai and APJ Abdul Kalam built the Indian space and missile program, greatly enhancing India’s stature among the world’s nations. Indeed, APJ Kalam credits India’s space and missile program as India’s ticket into the league of world superpowers. Let us learn more about Haider Ali and Tipu Sultan, who ruled the region called Mysore for a period of 38 years.

The History of Mysore, Haider Ali and Tipu Sultan

vikram sarabhai as reincarnation of haider aliMysore is a district in South India 140 kilometers from Bangalore. Haider Ali was born around 1722. Sources differ slightly regarding his exact year of birth. Haider Ali’s father was Fateh Mohammad and he had a brother, Shabiz, who became a soldier in the Mysore army. Haider Ali joined his brother on a campaign and distinguished himself in military service. He also demonstrated an interest in military engineering, visiting French troops in Pondicherry, where he admired the skill of the French engineering officers. Haider Ali was noted to have “a most retentive memory” and “keen penetration.” (6)

Due to his military skills, in 1755, Haider Ali was appointed as military commander of Budikot, in Mysore. Haider Ali demonstrated significant organizational skills. He realized that the colonial powers of England and France had developed efficient systems of military command and he organized his own army in a similar way. Haider Ali even manufactured military equipment based on English and French weaponry. Eventually, the entire Mysore army was placed under his command in 1757. When Haider Ali defeated an invading force of Marhattas, a rival Hindu group of people, the Hindu Maharaja of Mysore, gave him the title of Fateh Bahadur. Haider Ali was made Chief Minister of Mysore in 1761 and when the Maharaja died in 1766, Haider Ali himself became the ruler of Mysore.

In this capacity, Haider Ali proved to be a great administrator. It was documented that he had the “faculty of giving his attention to several subjects at the same time, so that he could hear a letter read, dictate orders, and witness a theatrical exhibition all at once, without being distracted by any one of these occupations.” (8) During his reign, Haider Ali improved the infrastructure of Mysore, building roads and gardens. The fortifications of Bangalore and Seringapatam where constructed by Ali. He was tolerant to other faiths. Haider Ali was also diplomatic with people and it was noted that he did not generate personal enemies.

The First Mysore War

abdul kalam as reincarnation of tipu sultan-mysore warUnfortunately, military campaigns continued though out Ali’s period of rule. The First Mysore War was started in 1767 when the British formed an alliance with the Marhattas, who controlled northern and central India, and the Nizam of Hyderabad. Nizam was the name of the ruler of a dynasty, which maintained Hyderbad as its capital. Haider Ali controlled the Madras territory and southern India. Despite this alliance made up of the British, the Marahattas and the Nizam, Haider Ali was able defeat the British led forces. In the peace treaty that followed, the British were required to assist Haider Ali if Mysore was attacked by other powers.

Mysore Rockets of Haider Ali and Tipu Sultan help win the Second Mysore War

When the Marhattas again attacked Mysore in 1771, the British reneged on their promise and refused to assist Haider Ali. This caused Ali to make an alliance with the French. The Second Mysore War started in 1780 when the British planned to attack French troops in the region and Haider Ali refused to assist the British. The English then made an alliance, once again, with the Marhattas and Nizam of Hyderbad and declared war on Haider Ali and Mysore. In the Second Anglo-Mysore war, at the Battle of Pollilur (September 10, 1780), Haider Ali and Tipu Sultan achieved a grand victory. One factor that helped them in their win was that one of the British ammunition carts was set on fire by Mysorean rockets.

The Death of Haider Ali

vikram sarabhai as reincarnation of haider aliHaider Ali led 80,000 men and 100 guns on campaign and in October 1780, he scored a victory in capturing Arcot. In 1781, though, he was defeated near Madras. It is reported that Haider Ali developed a suppurative tumor of the back, which led to his death at this camp outside Chittur, on December 7, 1172, in the midst of this campaign. When he received the news of his father’s death, Tipu Sultan marched to Chittur with 90,000 troops took command of the Mysore army.

Tipu Sultan then moved on to the British held fort at the seaport of Mangalore and with the help of French engineers, began a siege. The battle coincided, though, with time that the British and French came to a peace accord, following the American Revolutionary War. The French engineers who were helping Tipu Sultan were thus bound to withdraw their assistance. Tipu Sultan, indignant at the withdrawal of the French, was forced to convert the siege into a blockage. Tipu eventually secured victory over the British in 1783, winning the Second Mysore War. Through the treaty that was signed in January 1784, the territory that Tipu Sultan now controlled was vastly expanded.

The Technologic Rule of Tipu Sultan

Let us now review the life of Tipu Sultan. He was born on December 10, 1750 at Devanhalli. Tipu was trained as a military leader from his boyhood years and starting at the age of 15, he would join his father, Haider Ali, on military campaigns. Tipu Sultan loved to learn and had a library of 2000 books. In particular, Tipu studied math and science. He was described as very dynamic.

After his father died, Tipu Sultan took control of Mysore and he was considered a benevolent and enlightened ruler. He worked dynamically to advance the welfare of his people. For example, to promote agriculture, Tipu Sultan constructed dams and tanks to water crops, was well as roads to transport goods to market. Tipu Sultan created industries, building factories in Cutch, Masquat, and Jedda. He encouraged commerce with neighboring countries, such as Oman, Persia and Turkey. Tipu built forts and palaces. A Muslim, Tipu forbade liquor in Mysore, but he treated his non-Muslim subjects well. He invited foreign know-how to build factories to produce glass, mirrors and ship-building. He aimed at making his kingdom the most prosperous state of India. Tipu Sultan was also sought information on the latest scientific developments from around the world.

Tipu Sultan was a great supporter of the independence of his nation from colonial powers and in this light, was wary of the British East India Company’s plans to expand its influence across India. In order to strengthen his position against the British, Tipu made alliances with the French, Sultan of Turkey and the Amir of Afghanistan. In 1787, Tipu even sent a delegation to Paris, which met with Louis XVI, in an effort to strengthen his alliance with the French.

The Third Mysore War and the Attack of Lord Cornwallis by the Rocketmen of Tipu Sultan | Abdul Kalam, as Depicted at the NASA Wallops Flight Facility

Reincarnation Case Study Tipu Sultan Rockets British Reincarnation Abdul KalamThe British, aware of Tipu Sultan’s growing power, after making alliances once again with the Nizam of Hyperabad and Marhattas, started the Third Mysore War in 1790. In January 1791, Lord Cornwallis took command of the British troops at Vellore, determined to undertake the siege of Bangalore. When Cornwallis moved through the Mugli Pass, they were attacked by the Tipu Sultan’s rocket men. (8)

In reflection, perhaps the painting displayed in the lobby of the NASA Wallops Flight Facility, which gave Abdul Kalam such a feeling of validation, was stirring an unconscious memory or knowing in Kalam, that it was a battle that he once led. If APJ Kalam is indeed the reincarnation of Tipu Sultan, at Wallops, he received recognition of his own contributions to rocket technology, made over 200 years ago.

In the end, though, Tipu Sultan was defeated in the Third Mysore War. In a treaty signed in Seringapatam, his capital city, on March 22, 1792, Tipu Sultan had to give up half his kingdom and pay damages to the British and their allies of 33 million rupees.

The Fourth Mysore War and the Death of Tipu Sultan

5 Tipu Sultan Death Reincarnation Abdul KalamAfter his defeat in 1792, Tipu Sultan rebuilt his military with the assistance of the French. The British considered this a violation of the treaty of Seringapatam, which led to their attack on Mysore in 1798, which signaled the start of the Fourth Mysore War. Tipu was eventually cornered in this capital, Seringapatam. Once again, Tipu Sultan’s rocket men were involved in the battle. Tipu tried to evade capture by riding through the combat zone on his horse, but took a gun shot to the breast. He incurred a second wound in the right side as his horse fell from under him.

Tipu Sultan’s attendants picked him up and implored him to surrender to British officers, knowing that he would be spared. Tipu Sultan refused. One British soldier tried to grasp Tipu’s jewel encrusted sword belt. Tipu, though himself wounded, struck out with his sword and cut a gash in the soldier’s knee. In retaliation, the British soldier pulled out his musket and shot Tipu Sultan in the head, which caused instant death. This occurred in May 1799. Tipu Sultan was later was entombed in the “Gumbaz,” a mausoleum which he himself built, where he rests with Haider Ali and his mother, Fatima Begum.

Tipu Sultan’s Rocketmen Reincarnate in Germany and the Vikram Sarabhai Space Center

5-vikram-sarabhai-space-center-reincarnation-of-haider-aliIn a moment, we will observe how character traits have remained consistent in the cases of Vikram Sarabai and APJ Abdul Kalam. First, I would like to just comment that other karmic ties have also been renewed in contemporary times and that many of the engineers and scientists that Sarabai and Kalam worked with in developing missile technology were also with them in the era of Haider Ali and Tipu Sultan, as confirmed by Kevin Ryerson’s spirit guide, Ahtun Re.

For example, it is thought that Haider Ali’s minister Muhamed Sadik reincarnated as Brahm Prakash, the first Director of the Vikram Sarabhai Space Center. Even the great rocket scientist, Wernher von Braun, was with Tipu Sultan, perhaps in the persona of Sultan’s trusted commander, Burhan-ud-din. A launch from the Vikram Sarabhai Space Center is provided in the image to the right.

Let us now review personality traits that Vikram Sarabhai and Haider Ali have in common.

Character Traits Shared by Haider Ali and Vikram Sarabhai

Colorful Clothing-Haider Ali was fond of bright colored clothes, as was Vikram Sarabhai, who wore loud colored shirts.
Talent in Administration-As described above, Haider Ali had a powerful memory and keep perception. He was able to multitask easily in performing the duties required to run his domain. Vikram Sarabhai was also a gifted manager, who not only ran India’s space program, but at the same time directed operations of his family’s pharmaceutical, chemical, glass, agricultural and engineering companies. Like Haider Ali, Vikram Sarabhai was frequently observed multitasking, running industrial operations, while mentoring students at the same time.

Resourcefulness-Haider Ali was a very resourceful military commander, finding opportunities in a creative manner. Abdul Kalam has also noted that noted Vikram Sarabhai was a resourceful, at times unconventional manager, who successfully ran India’s space program that was lacking sufficient funds and staff.

Replicated Foreign Military Equipment-Haider Ali was reported to copy French and English military equipment. Vikram Sarabhai obtained a Russian RATO motor, used to assist jets in taking off in adverse conditions, which was used to engineer an Indian RATO motor. Abdul Kalam participated in this effort.

Accessible-Haider Ali was said “to be accessible to all and to have conversed with great readiness.” (9) Vikram Sarabhai was also reported to look upon all men as equals. It was noted that even a servant could approach him freely and converse with him in an open manner.

Character Traits shared by Tipu Sultan and APJ Abdul Kalam

Simple habits-Tipu Sultan ate common food and slept on coarse canvas. Abdul Kalam has maintained simple quarters and has, at times, refused to accept more privileged living quarters, when offered to him, such as when he was leading the Satellite Launch Vehicle 3 team in Thumba.

Causal Dress-Tipu Sultan preferred very simple dress, in contrast to his father, who liked colorful dress. Abdul Kalam has always preferred causal dress and when invited to meet Prime Minster Indira Gandhi after the first successful launch of an Indian Satellite Launch Vehicle, he wore casual dress and slippers for the meeting.

Abstinence-Tipu Sultan maintained abstinence from alcohol, for himself and his domain. It has been described that Tipu Sultan was not swayed by women. Abdul Kalam abstains from alcohol, is a vegetarian and has practiced celibacy.

Poetry-Tipu Sultan was known as a decent poet. Abdul Kalam likes to write poetry and his verses are found in his biography, Wings of Fire. Abdul Kalam also has published poetry books entitled, My Journey and The Life Tree.

Spiritual Scientists-Tipu Sultan enjoyed religious books, yet he was also greatly interested in the latest scientific discoveries and inventions. Abdul Kalam is a scholar of several holy texts and is even familiar with the clairvoyant philosopher Rudolf Steiner, who is well known for advocating the development of a spiritual science

5 abdul kalam missle launcher reincarnation tipu sultanInnovation-Tipu Sultan was known to have a “rage” for innovations. Tipu created new measures, a new calendar, coinage and a manual on military matters. Tipu created a shipbuilding facility and as part of this project, he developed a new non-magnetic alloy for shipbuilding. Abdul Kalam has also demonstrated an interest in material science and has admitted a fascination with composites, which can be seen as akin to alloys. A very specific parallel involves Tipu Sultan’s development of wheeled rocket organs which could fire multiple rockets simultaneously. In his book, Ignited Minds, Abdul Kalam notes with some pride that India has produced a modern multi-barrel rocket launcher called the Pinaka. Like Tipu Sultan, Abdul Kalam is an acknowledged innovator.

Daring-Tipu Sultan often said, “It is better to live one day like a lion than a hundred years like a sheep”. Abdul Kalam has stated, “I prefer a dash of daring and persistence to perfection.”

Hardworking-It has been said the Tipu Sultan worked from dawn to midnight for the welfare of his subjects. Abdul Kalam is known to work 18 hour days and is an admitted workaholic.

Dedication to the Advancement of Country-Tipu Sultan worked effortlessly to advance his realm in terms of technological advancement and economic development. He even came to call himself, “Citizen Tipu Sultan”, to reflect his social consciousness. Abdul Kalam has similarly striven to make India a developed, prosperous nation and a world power, as outlined in his book, India 2020, A Vision for the New Millennium.

Pride of Indigenous Achievement and Independence-Tipu Sultan greatly resented the British presence in India and strove to push the British and the East India Company out of the region. Tipu made alliances with France in this effort, though he was disappointed by the French when they pulled out of combat when a peace treaty with Britain had been signed. Abdul Kalam is an ardent supporter of indigenous production of needed technology and products, in large part due to Kalam’s understanding that dependence on foreign technology and products makes the India to vulnerable. Kalam, by the way, was involved in a missile project with the French which ended when, similarly, the French suddenly pulled out. It is almost as if Abdul Kalam brought with him the experiences of Tipu Sultan, which resulted in his insistence of India being independent, not only politically, but technologically.

The Affinity of Abdul Kalam for Tipu Sultan

Reincarnation Case Study Tipu Sultan Rockets British Reincarnation Abdul KalamOf course, the trait that Tipu Sultan and Abdul Kalam have in common, that is most striking, is their mutual fascination with rocketry. As indicated in his experience at Wallops, APJ Abul Kalam has shown great interest in Tipu Sultan. On a recent visit to Bangalore in 1991, Kalam expressed a desire to visit Tipu Sultan’s court in Srirangapatna. It was also noted that Kalam wistfully related that Tipu Sultan’s legacy as a pioneer of rocketry has largely been forgotten, even in Tipu Sultan’s own region, though a Tipu Sultan Shaheed Memorial Lecture is regularly held in Bangalore. Abdul Kalam, appropriately, was the speaker at this forum in November 30, 1991.

Kalam has also visited the Woolridge Firepower: Royal Artillery Museum near London and related that he felt thrilled when he saw Tipu’s rockets. In this light, the case of Tipu Sultan | Abdul Kalam is indeed another “affinity case,” in which an individual is attracted to their own past life persona. Other affinity cases include the reincarnation cases of Dorothy Dandridge | Halle Berry and Laurel & Hardy | Bacher Boys.
If these reincarnation cases are accepted, they demonstrate the following features:

Principles of Reincarnation & Understanding Past Lives

5-abdul-kalam-reincarnation-tipu-sultan IISIS Reincarnation Case StudyPhysical Resemblance from One Lifetime to Another: Though portraits of Ali Haider and Tipu Sultan are limited, an approximate similarity in appearance can be appreciated.

Past Life Talent: As described above, talents are replicated in the cases of Ali Haider | Vikram Sarabhai and Tipu Sultan | Abdul Kalam, as well as in the proposed reincarnation cases of Muhamed Sadik | Brahm Prakash and Burhan-ud-din | Wernher von Braun

Renewal of Relationships through Reincarnation: Father and son, Ali Haider and Tipu Sultan, were reunited as mentor and protege, Vikram Sarabhai and Abdul Kalmam. In addition, it is believed that the other rocket men of Mysore, Muhamed Sadik and Burhan-ud-din, reincarnated as the contemporary rocket scientists, Brahm Prakash and Wernher Von Braun, respectively.

Change of Religion, Nationality or Ethnic Affiliation from One Incarnation to Another: Ali Haider was Muslim, whereas Vikram Sarabhai was of the Jain religion. Ahtun Re has indicated that Wernher von Braun, who was German and born into the Christian Lutheran religion, was involved with Tipu Sultan’s rocket program in a past lifetime, which would have likely made him a Muslim from Mysore.

Affinity Case: Abdul Kalam has been attracted to his own past life persona, even taking joy in his visit to the Woolwich Firepower: Royal Artillery Museum London, where he admired Tipu Sultan’s rockets, which were on display. He also took pride in seeing the painting of Tipu’s rocketmen in battle against the British, which was hung at NASA’s Wallops Flight Facility, in Maryland. Kalam had a desire to visit Tipu Sultan’s court and he has expressed sadness that Tipu has been largely forgotten. Tipu engineered a missle organ that fired multiple rockets at a time, which India also developed in contemporary times, an accomplishment Abdul Kalam has been proud of.

Soul Guidance, Spiritual Communication and Spirit Beings in Reincarnation Cases-Introduction

Article by: Walter Semkiw, MD

In some reincarnation cases, past life information has been directly obtained through spiritual or telepathic communication. Intuitions can be seen as a form of spiritual communication.

In addition, spirit being intervention can be observed in the bringing reincarnation information to light, such as by leading a person to a physical location where past life information is revealed. At a past life location, an individual may find evidence of past lives or they can experience geographic memories, such as past life memories or emotions related to that location.

Ghosts can even appear to convey past life information, as depicted in the diagram to the right.

Spirit beings can also communicate with humans through dreams. Souls can predict or announce their next incarnation through in this way, which Ian Stevenson, MD, termed “announcing dreams.” In this case the soul who is planning to incarnate presents a dream to a family member, usually the future mother, and communicates its intention to be born within that family. Announcing dreams occurred in 22% of Stevenson’s reincarnation cases.

Spirit beings can also create symbolic messages by orchestrating meaningful coincidences, which Carl Jung called synchronicities or synchronistic events.

A most dramatic example of spirit being intervention involves the movement of a book, which shed light on a past life. Psychokinesis is the term used to describe movement of physical objects by spiritual forces. Psychokinesis is observed in the Reincarnation Case of Louise Vanderbilt | Wayne Peterson.

The symbol for reincarnation with spirit being guidance is a person surrounded by two circles, which represent spirit beings or the person’s own soul, transmitting past life information or clues to a past life.

Reincarnation Case of Frederic Chopin | Trent Reznor

Article by Walter Semkiw, MD

Melancholy Chords of Chopin & Nine Inch Nails

My father was a physician, but he played piano and he loved Frederic Chopin.  When I was a child, I would go to bed in my second story room, with Chopin’s cords echoing up the stairwell.

When I first heard the industrial rock of Nine Inch Nails (NIN), I was struck how in certain songs, despite the grinding, mechanical rhythms, there was a beautiful melancholy melodic quality that reminded me of Chopin. I also noticed that the keyboards in NIN songs, played by Reznor, reminded me of Chopin’s piano, with melodic, sad refrains.  I noted that Trent Reznor, the leader and primary songwriter of Nine Inch Nails, bore a resemblance to Chopin.

In a session with Kevin Ryerson, I asked Ahtun Re whether Frederic Chopin had reincarnated as Trent Reznor.  Ahtun Re said Reznor was indeed the reincarnation of Chopin.

Past Life Talent & Musical Style: Trent Reznor’s Chopinesque Hurt & Theme to the Social Network

One song that Reznor wrote and performs in is entitled Hurt, which for me epitomizes expression of Chopin in Reznor’s music.  Listen to Trent’s piano solo, which lasts for most of the video, and see if you hear Chopin’s soul in the notes.  Also, Johnny Cash did a version of Hurt that can bring one to tears.

chopin-reincarnation-trent-reznorTrent Reznor has also written the soundtrack to the movie The Social Network, along with Atticus Ross. The pair won an Academy Award for this effort.  For those who see this film, listen to the music of the opening scenes. Though I don’t know whether Reznor and Ross wrote this piece together or whether one of them created the melody, in this music, I hear the hand and soul of Frederick Chopin.  Listen to the piano version of The Social Network Main Theme.

Ryerson-Semkiw Reincarnation Research Sessions with Spirit Guide or Spirit Being Ahtun Re

By: Walter Semkiw, MD

Kevin Ryerson & Meaning of Life, Walter Semkiw MD IISIS Reincarnation Case StudyCelebrity and historic figure reincarnation cases have been derived through my work with Kevin Ryerson, who is pictured to the right. In contrast, all cases presented under categories of Principles of Reincarnation, such as Physical Resemblances, Birthmarks, etc, were derived through independent researchers, with a focus on the work of Ian Stevenson, MD.

Kevin Ryerson is a world-renowned trance medium, whose fame began when Shirley MacLaine wrote about her collaboration with Kevin in her pioneering book, Out on a Limb. Subsequently, when the movie version of Out on a Limb was produced, Kevin played himself in that film. Kevin is the author of Spirit Communication: The Soul’s Path.

As a trance medium, Kevin goes into a meditative state to allow spirit beings to utilize his body to communicate with human beings. When a spirit being speaks through Kevin, the personality and voice of the spirit being emerges, which is different from Kevin’s voice and personality. After a session in which Kevin “channels” a spirit being, Kevin has no memory of what happened during the session.

In 2001, I began having sessions with Kevin and found that he channels a spirit guide named Ahtun Re, who has the ability to make accurate reincarnation matches. In my assessment, Ahtun Re was able to accurately identify past lives of individuals, as well as identify contemporary incarnations of individuals from history.

In a section of the Reincarnation Research website, I present five core reincarnation cases which serve as examples of Ahtun Re’s abilities to make accurate matches. Perhaps the most dramatic and entertaining example of Ahtun Re’s talents involve the reincarnation cases of Laurel and Hardy | Josh and Danny Bacher. When Ahtun Re confirmed this match, I knew next to nothing about Josh and Danny and more specifically, I had no knowledge that they had any affinity with Laurel and Hardy.

When I contacted Danny Bacher to tell him that he was the reincarnation of Oliver Hardy, I was amazed to learn that Josh and Danny had begun pretending that they were Laurel and Hardy almost as toddlers. From money they had earned from their newspaper route, they bought a movie camera and started to make slapstick movies as children. When they bought their first car, they made a tape of Laurel and Hardy movie music, which they played as stanlaureljoshbacherreincarnationcasethey drove around Manhattan and New Jersey. In their first Off-Broadway show, they created their own silent movie, replicating the comedic development of Laurel and Hardy. Further, Danny has been a lifetime collector of Laurel and Hardy memorabilia and he even has a pair of pants and a suit that Ollie wore displayed in his home. In other words, Danny has acquired his own clothing from a past lifetime. In addition, Josh and Danny have the same facial features as Stan and Ollie.

These correspondences between Oliver and Hardy and Josh and Danny Bacher are too great to be attributed to coincidence. I call these types of cases in which individuals are unconsciously attracted to their own past life personas as “affinity cases.” Another such case is the Dorothy Dandridge | Halle Berry reincarnation case.

Please review the Laurel & Hardy | Bacher Boys cases in detail and enjoy the Bacher Boys silent movie, entitled The Wrong Arm of the Law. In addition, view a reincarnation television pilot they have created entitled, Reincarnation Exploration, in which you will see Josh and Danny pretending to be Laurel and Hardy as children, hear testimony from their parents regarding their boys’ obsession with Laurel & Hardy, observe their childhood slapstick movies and see Danny’s collection of Laurel and Hardy memorabilia.

Please keep in mind that the Bacher Boys’ obsession with Laurel and Hardy and related behaviors occurred long before I contacted Josh and Danny in 2005 to inform them that they are the reincarnations of Laurel and Hardy. Further, when I made this contact, I had no knowledge of their lifelong obsession with Laurel and Hardy. For me, these observations, along with established principles or patterns of reincarnation, validate Ahtun Re’s ability to make accurate reincarnation matches. Their cases can be reviewed at:

I have worked with Kevin Ryerson since 2001 and Ahtun Re has demonstrated the uncanny ability to make what appear to be accurate reincarnation matches over this duration of time. Felix Lee Lerma: A Medium who Contacts the Dead

Article by Walter Semkiw, MD

Mediumship and Contacting the Dead

Gary E. Schwartz, PhD, a Professor at the University of Arizona, conducted an experiment which definitively shows that mediums can communicate with deceased individuals. To review this study, go to

Mediumship of Felix Lee Lerma

IISIS Reincarnation Case Felix Lee Lerma - Psychic Medium ImageDr. Schwartz worked with very well known mediums such as John Edward. Though I personally have never had a session with John Edward, I have had a session with a young medium, Felix Lee Lerma, who has made me a believer in his abilities to communicate with the dead. Felix is picured to the right.

A close friend of mine, let us call her Anna, was born in Croatia and moved to San Francisco as a teenager, along with a community of other Croatians. In 2008, a number of people in her community passed away.  Several of Anna’s friends had sessions with Felix and they related that the information gained was very meaningful.

Anna had lost her mother several years before and she was very excited about the prospect of communicating with her beloved mother. Anna not only made an appointment with Felix for herself, but she also made an appointment for her niece. Both appointments were set up for a particular Saturday, with Anna scheduled to see Felix at 1 PM and her niece scheduled to see him at 4 PM.

On the morning of the appointments, Anna’s niece called to advise that she would not be able to make the session with Felix. Anna then suggested that I take the appointment instead, since it was already paid for.  Anna did not inform Felix of the change in plan, nor did her niece.

Two Spirit Families Show Up for a Session with Felix

When Anna arrived to see Felix, he noted that there were two different families from the spirit world that were very anxious to speak to her. He stated that one family was Croatian, which was understandable. What was unexpected is that Felix stated that the other family was Ukrainian.

My parents were born in Ukraine and apparently my deceased family members showed up early during Anna’s session, apparently anticipating the session that I would have later that afternoon. Anna has no Ukrainian relatives or friends, other than me.

Remarkably, as noted, Felix was unaware that I was going to have to session at 4 PM instead of Anna’s Croatian niece.  Further, in addition to Felix having no knowledge about my appointment, Felix knew nothing about me. I myself had never heard of Felix before that date.

The question is, how did Felix know such specific information regarding a Ukrainian family when Anna appeared for her appointment?

In Anna’s session, Felix accurately named Croatian relatives who had died and he provided details about their lives that were true.  These individuals had unusual first names, such as Radko, which would be difficult for a non-Croatian to know.

In sum, after our sessions, Anna and I were convinced that Felix genuinely was able to contact our deceased relatives and convey accurate information from them to us. Felix conveyed information that he could not have learned through normal means.

Contact Information for Felix Lee Lerma

I can share that information provided to Anna and me through Felix was valid and helpful. Though I cannot guarantee that others will have the same experience, Felix is a resouce for those who would like to try to contact their lost loved ones. Contacting the Dead or Spirit Beings, Spiritual Communication, Mediumship and Gary E. Schwartz’s Afterlife Experiments

Article by by Walter Semkiw, MD

Research of Gary E. Schwartz on John Edward and other Mediums who Contact the Dead

gary e schwartz arizona IISIS Reincarnation Case StudyGary E. Schwartz, PhD, is a professor at the University of Arizona and the Director of its Laboratory for Advances in Consciousness and Health.  Dr. Schwartz received his PhD in psychology from Harvard University and was a professor of psychiatry and psychology at Yale University before joining the University of Arizona.

Dr. Schwartz, pictured to the right, has had a longtime interest in scientifically assessing mediums, individuals who claim to be able to communicate with deceased individuals, that is, with spirit beings. Some of the world’s more famous mediums include John Edward, who was featured in the television show Crossing Over, and James Van Praagh, a best-selling author on communicating with the dead.

HBO Experiment to Assess the Accuracy of Mediums Communicating with Spirit Beings under Controlled Conditions

I would like to cite one experiment that Dr. Schwartz conducted, along with a collaborator, Linda Russek, PhD, that was videotaped by Home Box Office (HBO), the cable television company.  As such, we will call this study the HBO Experiment, which is found in Dr. Schwartz’s book, The Afterlife Experiments. In this study, mediums would try to provide information to a subject about the subject’s deceased relatives.  We will refer to the mediums’ sessions with the subject as “readings.”

HBO Mediums Experiment Design with John Edward, Suzanne Northrup, George Anderson, Anne Gehman & Laurie Campbell

Linda Russek, the HBO producer for this project, insisted that none of the mediums or the experimenters, including Gary Schwartz, would know the identity of the subject who the mediums would perform readings on.  In this way, neither the mediums nor the experimenters would be able to research information regarding the subject prior to the experiment.

The HBO Experiment was done on February 20, 1999 in Tucson, Arizona, at a house specifically set up to prevent interaction between the mediums and the subject. When the mediums arrived, they were brought into a fenced-in back courtyard of the house.  The mediums were also kept separate from one another so that they could not compare notes in between their readings.

Linda Russek’s chosen subject, Patricia Price, was brought into the house and placed in the room where the readings would be conducted. She was seated in one of two chairs that were separated by a white, opaque, cloth screen.  The screen was positioned in this way so that the mediums would not be able to see the subject, and as such, the mediums would not be able to pick up clues based on nonverbal communication.

john edward medium crossing over IISIS Reincarnation CaseThe five mediums who participated in this experiment were John Edward (pictured to the right), Suzanne Northrup, George Anderson, Anne Gehman and Laurie Campbell.  Dr. Schwartz considers these individuals to be very highly gifted mediums.  Specific content from readings performed by the five mediums are included in Gary Schwartz’s book, The Afterlife Experiments.

Determining the Validity of Mediums

Videotapes from the HBO Experiment resulted in 200 pages of transcripts. The information from the videotapes was categorized into six types of information: names, initials, descriptions, historical facts, temperament and opinions.  An opinion would be a statement such as ”your son wants me to tell you he doesn’t blame you for his death” (1) Opinions, such as this, would be difficult to objectively validate. The other hand, the other five types of information, names, initials, descriptions, historical facts and tempermant, can be readily verified.

Overall, the information provided by the 5 mediums, which was documented through the videotape transcripts, resulted in 600 specific items or pieces of information.  This information was organized into documents for the subject, Pat Price, to score. The documents did not reveal which medium produced the information for each document.  As such, the subject did not know whose results she was scoring. The subject, Pat Price, was asked to score the accuracy of each item of information provided on the documents.  It took ten hours to do the scoring.

After the sessions with the mediums were completed, Dr. Schwartz designed a control for the experiment by creating a list of yes or no questions regarding Patricia Price’s deceased relatives.  In addition, open-ended questions were also created regarding the deceased relatives.  A control group was created consisting of 68 students from the University of Arizona who were not mediums or psychics.  The control group was set up to ascertain how many correct responses could be obtained by simply guessing.

Outcome the HBO Afterlife Experiment Assessing Mediums

The results from the HBO Experiment were quite striking.  The range of accuracy for the five mediums ranged from 77% to 95%, with an average of correct items for the mediums as 83%.  In contrast, the average of correct items for the control group was only 36%. Dr. Schwartz made the following calculation:

“When the 83 percent for the mediums was compared with the 36 percent for the control group of students, the statistical probability of this difference occurring by chance alone was less than one in ten million.” (2)

These results of this study are displayed in the graph provided below (click to enlarge).

IISIS Reincarnation Cases Kevin-Ryerson Image

This study does provide strong support that mediumship, the ability of a medium to communicate with deceased individuals, is a valid phenomenon.  It should be noted, though, that the mediums did not achieve a score of 100%. One must understand that mediums and psychics do not produce accurate information 100% of the time.  Still, through this experiment, it was shown that mediums can produce accurate information at a far higher percentage than what can be obtained by chance, a percentage that is very statistically significant.

To reiterate, Dr. Schwartz calculated that the odds of the mediums scoring so highly by chance alone was one in 10 million.

Types of Psychics and Mediums

At this point, let us explore this phenomenon further, as there are several types of mediums.  Let us define mediumship as the ability of a human being to communicate with spirit beings or deceased indivduals, or the ability to allow a spirit being to talk through the medium.  In constrast, let us define an individual as “psychic” if that individual can derive information through extrasensory perception, but without the involvement of spirit beings.

Spiritual Communication

Spiritual communication is a term that is used to describe the phenomenon of human beings accessing information from spirit beings. A synonymous term is spirit communication.

Trance Mediums & Mediumship

A trance medium works by going into a meditative state and allowing a spirit being to utilize the medium’s body to communicate with human beings.  When a spirit being comes through a trance medium, the medium’s voice, accent, facial expressions, manner of speaking and sense of humor can change dramatically, so much so that it seems like the medium has become a different person.  Typically, the trance medium is not aware of what the spirit being is saying, or what goes on in the session, while the medium is in trance.

Kevin Ryerson, IISIS Reincarnation ResearchKevin-RyersonA well-known trance medium who works in this way is Kevin Ryerson, who has been featured in four of Shirley MacLaine’s books.  Kevin jokes that in his work he serves as a “human telephone,” providing a connection between the spirit guides he works with and his clients.  Kevin only channels a handful of spirit guides who are well known to him.

I have worked with Kevin extensively since 2001 and found that one of the spirit guides that he channels, whose name is Ahtun Re, has the ability to make past life or reincarnation matches with a high degree of accuracy.  Ahtun Re’s personality, voice, fund of knowledge and sense of humor is quite different from Kevin’s. In sessions, I have very intense discussions with Ahtun Re, a spirit being, directly.  After the channeling session is over, Kevin does not have knowledge of what transpired.

My book, Origin of the Soul and the Purpose of Reincarnation, is based on my dialogues with Ahtun Re.

Another example of a trance medium who channels past life information is found in the reincarnation cases involving Penney Peirce.  The spirit guide channeled through the medium in the Peirce cases provided past life information that was encyclopedic in scope and detail, far beyond what the medium herself could have known.

Conscious Mediums & Psychics

A medium may also transmit messages from spirit beings while conscious.  Hans Christian King is an established medium who works in this way.  Hans has four specific spirit guides who work with him.  When a client sees Hans, it is the spirit guides who gather information for that person.  The spirit guides then telepathically transmit this information to Hans, who relays it to the client.  Hans is fully conscious during this process.

Of interest, through my work with Kevin Ryerson, past life identities of John Edward and Hans Christian King have been derived.  To learn more, to:

Mediums Who Communicate with Deceased Loved Ones

A conscious medium may specialize in communicating with deceased individuals, usually departed relatives of the clients who come to see the medium.  The work of Gary Schwartz, described above, involves these types of mediums.  John Edward is a medium who works with several spirit beings or spirit guides who assist him in communicating with a client’s deceased relatives.  John calls his spirit helpers or collaborators “The Boys.”

Skeptics often try to dismiss the work of these types of mediums as trickery. Belief in their talents, though, not only comes through the work of individuals such as Dr. Gary Schwartz, but from personal experience with mediums and witnessing that they can indeed provide information that is accurate, information which could not have been accessed by normal means.

I had such a reading with a medium named Felix Lee Lerma. To learn more, go to the:

The Mediumship of Felix Lee Lerma

Mediums & Psychics Different Abilities

In closing, evidence exists that there are gifted individuals who are able to communicate with the dead or spirit beings.  Different mediums vary in what they can do. For example, Kevin Ryerson does not have the ability to communicate with deceased relatives; rather his mediumship involves working with a specific group of spirit guides or teachers. Conversely, John Edward does not typically channel specific spirit guides, rather he works with deceased relatives of his clients.
