Spirit Being Orbs and the Reincarnation Case of Shanti Devi Mathur

Article by: Walter Semkiw, MD

Since the advent of digital cameras, which require only a tiny amount of light energy to capture an image, spherical objects have been captured that have been described as orbs. Click on images to enlarge them.

A conventional and valid explanation for some orbs is that they are produced by dust or water droplets that reflect light from the camera’s flash. The way that environmental particles can produce these orbs is explained on the following webpage:

Orbs Produced by Atmospheric Particles

Dust particles and water droplets, though, cannot explain all orb images and it is believed that orbs represent spirit beings.  I have worked with trance medium Kevin Ryerson since 2001, who channels a spirit being name Ahtun Re, who is the most intelligent being I have interacted with and who has demonstrated the ability to make past life matches with a high degree of accuracy. Ahtun Re has confirmed that orbs that are not caused by dust or water droplets do indeed represent spirit beings. We will call these spirit being orbs.

Reasons Why Not All Orbs can be Produced by Dust or Water Droplets:

  • When a series of images is taken in rapid succession, in one photograph no orbs appear at all, the second photograph may have a multitude of orbs and in a third photograph, the orbs disappear. This could not happen through the reflection of dust or water droplets as the atmosphere is unchanged from one moment to another. This phenomenon also indicates that orbs appear to be able to choose whether they are seen or not, which lends credence to the theory that they represent conscious beings.
  • When several people with identical cameras take photographs at the same time, some people will get multiple orbs while other people do not have orbs appear in images at all. If orbs are caused by dust or water droplets, each photographer should have the same number of orbs in their photographs. This observation supports the theory that the energy field of the photographer has an influence on the photography of spirit being orbs.

This idea is consistent with observations related to physical mediums, people who can move and levitate physical objects without any apparent cause. In my book Born Again, the reincarnation case of D.D Home | Uri Geller showed that the ability of physical mediumship can extend across two lifetimes. Both Home and Geller were studied by eminent scientists of their day and their ability to affect objects without touching them was verified. When I asked Ahtun Re why Home and Geller could produce such phenomenon while the vast majority of people cannot, Ahtun Re told me it had to do with the energy field of the soul of Home | Geller. In a similar way, the energy field of the photographer may contribute to the energy that makes spirit being orbs visible.

  • Orbs have been photographed in research laboratory clean rooms, such as those used to manufacture computer chips, where dust or water particles large enough to produce optical effects are filtered out.
  • Dust particles located close to the camera lens would appear fuzzy and ill-defined. In contrast, spirit being orbs appear with the same brilliance and sharpness regardless of how close or far away they are from the camera.
  • Spirit being orbs have been photographed multiple times in the same location, indicating that the spirit being involved has chosen where to reside geographically. Dust and water particles are constantly moving, which would not allow the orb to be photographed in the same exact spot multiple times.
  • Orbs have been photographed in fast motion, with speeds calculated at over 500 miles an hour. A dust or water particle could not travel that fast.
  • Orbs appear to be able to demonstrate group mind, where they appear and disappear together and maneuver together, like a flock of birds.
  • Orbs have been photographed with asymmetric internal features, such as voids or holes, which could not be produced by airborne particles. Some orbs even seem to have human faces. Click on the orb photo provided to the right and see if you can perceive a man’s face inside the orb.

In the Reincarnation Case of Shanti Devi Mathur, Shanti Describes What It May Feel Like to be a Spirit Being Orb

Of interest, in the reincarnation case of Lugdi Chaubey | Shanti Devi Mathur, Shanti had memories of the interval between her death as Lugdi and rebirth as Shanti. Part of her experience was shrinking to the size of a minute particle of dust or a germ. As this tiny particle, Shanti said that she could drift around moving from one place to another and paradoxically, it felt as if the whole universe was within her.

Shanti may be describing what it is like to be a spirit being orb. Mediums who communicate with the deceased tell us that our loved ones in the spirit world are always tuned into us and come in proximity to us when a need arises. It appears that spirit being orbs are the manifestation of who we are when we are freed of the physical body.

The Life and Death of Lugdi Devi

Lugdi Devi, which means “heavenly doll,” was born on January 18, 1902 in the town of Mathura, also known by locals as Muttra, which is located about 15 miles south of New Delhi. Her father’s name was Chaturbhuj and her mother’s name was Jagti Devi.

Lugdi was a very devout girl who worshiped the Hindu god Krishna. Muttra is considered the home city of Krishna and the Dvarkadish Temple there was built in Krishna’s honor.

When she was old enough to wed, her father, Chaturbhuj , who was poor, went into debt to provide a dowry substantial enough for her to marry a wealthy citizen, Kedar Nath Chaubey. Kedar was a Brahmin, a member of the highest caste in India.

Lugdi and Kedar were married during the Navaratri festival in Muttra. Kedar had a cousin named Kanji Mal Chaubey, who lived with the couple.

Lugdi became pregnant. She had a difficult pregnancy and had much pain during the period of gestation. On September 25, 1925, she bore a son who the couple named Naunita Lal Chaubey. There were complications to the pregnancy and on October 4, 1925, Lugdi died.

Ludgi Reincarnates as Shanti Devi Mathur

Fourteen months later after Lugdi died, a girl was born in New Delhi. Her mother’s was Prem Pyari Mathur and her father was Rang Bahadur Mathur. The couple named their daughter Shanti Devi Mathur.

After her fourth birthday, Shanti started to talk about a past life husband. She said: “I am a Brahmin wife from Muttra.” She related that her husband was waiting for her in Muttra.

Like in many childhood past life memory cases, she told her parents that this was not her real home. She added that the clothes that she was wearing were not her real clothes.

In addition, Shanti told Prem that “you are not my real mama” and that “you don’t look like her.” Though her family was not vegetarian, she told her parents that “in Muttra we don’t eat meat.” She said that it was not right to kill animals. She said that she wanted “sattvic” food. Her parents had no idea how she knew that word, as they never used it. Sattvic foods are obtained without harming an organism and as such, are vegetarian foods. Only Sattvic foods are acceptable as offerings to Hindu gods.

Shanti had friends who were twins, named Prabhash and Subhash. Their father was a prosperous attorney, Tara Chand Mathur. When Shanti was with the twins she drew a picture of a temple. Prabhash noted it did not look like the temple in their neighborhood. Shanti replied that she drew the Dvarkadish Temple in Muttra. She added that her husband has a large store in near this temple.

Shanti Reveals Her Past Life Address

Shanti related that she danced for her husband while wearing ankle bracelets, which are called chureys. She said that they lived on a street named after her husband’s family, specifically, the ninth house on Chaubey Street in Muttra. She also stated that her name was not Shanti Devi, but Lugdi Devi. When she was eight years of age, Shanti revealed that her past life husband’s name was Kedar Nath. She related that in her past life, her father’s name was Chaturbhuj and her mother’s name was Jagti.

With this address, 9 Chaubey Street, the past life name of Lugdi Devi Chaubey and the past life husband’s name of Kedar Nath Chaubey, there arose a way to research Shanti’s claimed past life.

The headmaster of the school that Shanti attended, whose name was Lala Kishan Chand, and a teacher, Bishan Chand, heard about her claims of having a husband in Muttra. They concluded that Shanti’s statements referred to a past lifetime. Lala Kishan Chand  took the initiative to write a letter to Kedar Nath Chaubey at 9 Chaubey Street in Mattra regarding this hypothesis.

Shanti’s Past Life Husband sends an Envoy

The headmaster was rewarded by receiving a reply from Kedar that he indeed had a wife named Lugdi Devi and that he has a store near the Dvarkadish temple, as Shanti had reported. Kedar related that he has a cousin in New Delhi whose name is Kanji Mal Chaubey, who he has written to asking that Kanji to meet this girl who claims to be his reincarnated wife.

When Shanti was still eight years old, Kanji Mal Chaubey went to meet her at her home in New Delhi. As soon as he entered their house, Shanti stated: “You are my husband’s cousin.”

Shanti added that Kedar is her husband and that he is a businessman in Muttra. She told Kanji that he lived with us when I was Lugdi Devi. You had difficulty trying to find a home you liked and that is why you wanted to stay with us. I remember more and more now. You didn’t want to work for Kedar because you wanted to be independent. All this was true.

Kanji then asked, how many brothers did your husband have. Shanti then replied that her husband only has one brother, which was true. Kanji then asked whether the brother was older or younger than Kedar. Shanti replied older, which was accurate.

Shanti then said she remembered his name, Kanji Mal Chaubey, which was correct.  Kanji then related that he came to meet Shanti as a skeptic, but that he was now a believer. He wrote to his cousin, Kedar, to come visit this girl.

Shanti’s Past Life Husband Arrives with a Disguise

Kedar did travel from Muttra to New Delhi to meet Shanti, but to test her, he decided to go in a disguise. When he appeared at the Mathur home, he introduced himself as Ram Chaubey, the brother-in-law of Kedar.

ReincarnationResearchPregnantShanti, though, recognized him and said that he is Kedar Nath Chaubey. After that, a boy entered the house. Shanti knew that he was her son from her past lifetime. She related that this is my son, my beloved Naunita Lal. After a moment of confusion and rejection of Shanti, Naunita returned and they embraced.

Shanti then asked whether Kedar kept his promise to her. Kedar asked what he had promised. Shanti responded: “On my deathbed you promised me you would never get married again.” Kedar confessed that he was not able to keep this vow.

Shanti Recalls a Past Life Infidelity and a Special Sexual Position

Shanti then told Kedar how she remembered how he betrayed her. When she was enduring the difficult pregnancy with Naunita Lal, she observed that the nurse that had been hired to take care of her as Lugdi had a romance with her husband, Kedar. Though she had a bone splinter in her foot, which made it difficult to walk, she managed to make her way from her room to where she saw Kedar and the nurse embracing each other in another room.

Kedar was astonished that Shanti knew of this occurrence and asked Shanti for forgiveness. Kedar, in shame, acknowledged that this was all true.

Shanti them revealed that she remembered that when she was pregnant and great pain, Kedar still wanted to have sex with her. Shanti related that due to discomfort, she could only have intercourse in a particular position and that Kedar almost forced himself on her. Kedar, in embarrassment, recoiled and asked: “How do you know about that?” After she revealed her memories of the nurse and the special sex position, Kedar again asked for Shanti’s forgiveness.

Mahatma Gandhi Convenes a Panel to Research the Shanti Devi Reincarnation Case

Mahatma Gandhi heard about the past life case involving Shanti Devi Mathur and went to visit her in New Delhi. It was an extraordinary event when Gandhi came to the home of the Mathur family. Gandhi encouraged Shanti to travel to Muttra with an esteemed panel of men, including the attorney, Tara Chad Mathur, to investigate this reincarnation case.

Shanti Spontaneously Recognizes Past Life Relatives in Muttra

On November 25, 1935, a party of 15 people from New Delhi traveled with Shanti, who was still eight years old, to Muttra. At the train platform in Muttra, Shanti recognized an older man, ran to him and placed her arms around his legs. She told the party that his man was her brother-in-law when she was Lugdi. She asked the man if he had taken care of her holy basil plant, as he had promised. The man related that is name was Ram Chaubey, that she was Lugdi’s brother-in-law and that he indeed promised to take care of Lugdi’s plant before she died.

Shanti then started to lead the group to her past life home. The group waved down several taxis and as the caravan made its way, Shanti had her cab driver stop near a narrow street with trees, indicating that they could walk from this point. Shanti explains that they were going to the first home that Lugdi and Kedar lived in when they were newly married.

On the way, Shanti recognized another elderly man, ran to him and kissed his hands. She explained to the group that this is her past life father-in-law, Mahadev Chaubey. She said to him: “It was you, babu Mahadev, who gave me my chureys, my ankle bracelets. Do you remember? You said: ‘She shall dance in Krishna’s honor, she is as agile as a gopi, one of those pure girls who love God.’ You appreciated my dancing.”

Mahadev admitted, “Those were my own words. Then you have returned, Lugdi Devi. Blessed be the Lord.”

Geographic Memory: Shanti Finds her Past Life Homes

Shanti then scurried down the road, excitedly relating that her past life home was nearby and that it is yellow. When she arrived at the house, she was disappointed to she that the house was white, not yellow. The door was open and Shanti went straight in. Inside, a man explained that he was renting this house from Kedar Nath Chaubey. When they first occupied the home, it was yellow, but they had painted the exterior white at their own cost. Shanti then showed the group where her and her husband’s rooms were and where their beds were located. The tenant related that when they initially inspected the house they did observe the layout of the couple’s rooms and that Shanti’s description was accurate.

The group now traveled on to 9 Chaubey Street, the location where Kedar and Lugdi lived at the time of Lugdi’s death. On that street, Shanti ran to a young man and stated: “It’s my brother. Nuthura Nath.” “My brother and I were so alike” She related to him: “You became angry when people thought you were like your sister, do you remember?”

The young man nodded and asked her if she knows the names of her other two brothers. Shanti corrected responded Vitala Nath and Ayodhya Nath.

When they approached 9 Chaubey Street, Shanti said: “It was here I spent the happiest time of my life, but also the most difficult. I was extremely ill.”

Kedar and his new wife, as well as Naunita Lal, Lugdi’s son, were waiting inside the house. Shanti kissed her past life son. She then went upstairs and found the room that she had occupied in prior lifetime was empty. She correctly identified where her bed had once been situated. She also revealed a secret hiding spot underneath floorboards where she had hidden money, but found that the  money was gone. Kedar explained that he used the money to pay for Lugdi’s funeral.

Like a Dalai Lama, Shanti Sorts out Which are Her Past Life Possessions

Shanti asked for her jewelry. Kedar fetched a jewelry box and Shanti proceeded to sort out what were hers, as Lugdi, and what belonged to Kedar’s new wife. She then decided to show the group the well she used in her past lifetime in the courtyard of the property. She pointed to a corner of the yard, but there was no well. Kedar reported that the well was there, but the water became contaminated and the well was boarded up.

Shanti Recognizes her Past Life Parents

The party then summoned taxis to take then to the Dvarkadish Temple. On the way, Shanti had her cab stop near a white wall and getting out, Shanti found an entrance that led to a large garden behind the wall. Shanti explained that this was her childhood home. People were in the garden having a party. Shanti ran up to an elderly woman, who turned out to be Lugdi’s mother. She exclaimed, “Mama, Mama, Jagti Devi. It’s Lugdi Devi, your daughter.”

She then saw her past life father, Chaturbhuj. Shanti told him that he was very poor and put himself into debt to provide a sufficient dowry for her to marry Kedar Nath Chaubey. Chaturbhuj confirmed that this was true. After this meeting with her past life parents, Shanti and the party continued onto the Dvarkadsih temple where the golden stature of Krishna welcomed them.

In the end, The Committee of Inquiry concluded that the reincarnation case of Lugdi Devi Chaubey | Shanti Devi Mather was a valid one, one that Mahatma Gandhi endorsed.

Shanti’s Memories of the Interval Between Death and Rebirth

Shanti Devi was interviewed by the Swedish journalist Sture Lonnerstrand, who wrote the book this article is based on. Shanti related to him that she had memories of what happened to her after her death as Lugdi Devi Chaubey. Shanti stated that she observed a doctor and a nurse examining her body to certify that she was dead. She stated that Kedar wanted to kiss her mouth but that the doctor restrained him.

She related that she was aware that her body was taken back to the house where she had lived, where it was wrapped in silk and linen, covered with flowers and carried on a bier made of bamboo cane poles. Kedar then lit the wood, so that Lugdi’s body would be cremated. At that point Shanti said that she was aware of an infinite bright light.

After that point, Shanti said that she felt free and had shrunk to a tiny size, like a particle of dust. She said that it was as if she was a germ which drifted around, yet she felt that the whole universe was inside of her. She said that all her incarnations were contained within this tiny germ.

She related that all her memories returned in a concentrated form and then she developed a great yearning to become a woman again. The experience of floating ceased when it felt that she had been affixed to something, which he later realized was a womb. She had begun her incarnation to be born as Shanti.

The Phenomenon of Spirit Being Orbs

Of interest, Shanti’s description of becoming tiny, like a germ, seems to correspond to images of spherical objects now being captured on digital cameras that are called orbs. Though some orbs are caused by dust or water droplets, not all orbs can be explained by these optical effects.

In my work with Kevin Ryerson, who channels a highly intelligent spirit being named Ahtun Re, I asked about orbs. Ahtun Re told me that true orbs are indeed representations of spirits, of what in various philosophies have been called the bindu or the permanent atom of a soul. Shanti’s description of floating as a tiny germ, conscious of interconnection with all beings, is likely what it feels like to be a spirit orb. To learn more about orbs, please go to:

Vistas of Infinity: Jurgen Ziewe’s Experiences of Heaven, Hell and Lucid Ecstacy

Article by: Walter Semkiw, MD

In my book Origin of the Soul and the Purpose of Reincarnation, it is explained that there are many levels of the spirit world and that after death, one gravitates to the spiritual sphere that corresponds to our level of spiritual advancement. Lower levels are negative places populated by violent criminals, who continue to try to cheat and kill one another. Higher levels become increasing pleasant and beautiful.

Two psychics, Echo Bodine and Judy Goodman, contributed to Origin of the Soul, by sharing their experiences in traveling into the levels of the spirit world. The spirit guide Ahtun Re, who is channeled through trance medium Kevin Ryerson, relates that he exists on the plane closest to God and he describes his state of being as “Lucid Ecstasy.” Origin of the Soul is largely based on my dialogues with Ahtun Re. I have worked with Kevin and Ahtun Re since 2001.

A book that I recently read that makes these spiritual realms come vividly alive is entitled Vistas of Infinity. The author, Jurgen Ziewe, is gifted in being able to use Out of Body Experiences to explore the spiritual realms. Jurgen is an excellent writer and his portrayals of the multiple spheres of the spirit realm are riveting.

A point of concurrence between Jurgen and Ahtun Re is that we have to experience what we have done to others from the other person’s point of view. In this way, we reap what we sow.

We all must face death someday and it is wise to prepare for it. Vistas of Eternity is a wonderful guidebook for what to expect. Related pages are provided below:

A Buddhist Monk Reincarnates into a Roman Catholic Family: The Case of Sandika Tharanga

Reincarnation CaseschristianityreincarnationpastlivescrossHow Derived: Past Life Memories in Child

How Derived: Past Life Memories in Childhood

Researcher: Erlender Haraldsson, PhD

From: I Saw a Light and Came Here, by Erlender Haroldsson, PhD and James Matlock, PhD

Article by: Walter Semkiw, MD

Sandika Tharanga was born in May 1979 to Roman Catholic parents who lived on the outskirts of Colombo, Sri Lanka. At the age of three, he started to talk about a past life as a monk in a monastery.  He said that there were four or five monks who lived there, who were under the authority of a head monk. He asked to be taken back to his monastery. Like in many reincarnation cases, Sandika stated that his mother was not his real mother. He asked to be taken to his previous mother’s home.

Sandika tries to Convert his Parents to his Past Life Religion: Buddhism

From the time that he started to speak about a past lifetime, Sandika demonstrated the behavior of Buddhist monk. He convinced his parents to obtain a picture of Buddha and later a Buddha statue. He would pick flowers and place them as an offering to the Buddha image and figurine.  He had no interest in going to church but rather wanted to go to Buddhist temples. In a comical twist, the little boy tried to convert his Catholic parents to Buddhism, which they resisted.

Remarkably, Sandika would chant religious stanzas, which his parent did not understand, but they believed their son was chanting in Pali, which is a language from India that the texts of Theravada Buddhism are written in. Sandika engaged in this form of worship two to three times a day. In addition, on days of the full moon, Sandika would ask his father to take him to a Buddhist temple, which is a tradition of that religion.

He also convinced his Catholic parents to give donations to Buddhist monks and he induced his parents to have Buddhist monks come to their home to perform a ceremony. In addition, as a small child, he refused to eat meat, which is also consistent with Buddhist teachings.

Sandika asked to be taken to his past life temple. His father cooperated by taking Sandika to several Buddhist temples in the area, but Sandika did not recognize any of them as his past life home. At one temple, which was situated two miles from their residence, a monk gave Sandika a bouquet of flowers and waited to see what he would do. Sandika promptly climbed steps to the temple shrine room, presented the flowers to an image of Buddha and then worshipped there. These behaviors are typical of a devout Buddhist.

Sandika was an excellent and well-behaved student, always in the top three of his class. His best grades were in his favorite subject, Buddhism. He even went to a Buddhist Sunday school and eventually was admitted to Ananda College, a prestigious Buddhist institution. He later completed a degree in engineering.

Past Life Phobia of Explosions

Regarding his past life death, Sandika said that he was going to an event in which townspeople were going to host Buddhist monks for a ceremonial luncheon. He then heard an explosion, which is the last thing he remembered about his past life.

Sandika had a great fear of fire crackers and loud, sudden noises. When he experienced these types of sounds, Sandika would instinctively and fearfully place his hands on the left side of his chest. This placement of his hands corresponded to a dark birthmark on the left side of his chest.

Though Sandika’s past life persona was never identified, Sri Lanka went through a bitter civil war waged between Hindu militants and the majority Buddhist government. It is speculated that in his past lifetime, Sandika was killed in the turmoil of this war. In particular, in a Hindu uprising in 1971, eight years before Sandika was born, a several Buddhist monks were killed.

Reincarnation: Belief versus Knowledge

Ironically, both the Hindu and Buddhist religions profess a belief in reincarnation. Belief is much different than knowing reincarnation is true based on evidence. Further, those who promote reincarnation do not always preach that the religion one is born into can vary from one lifetime to another. If people understood that one could be born Hindu in one lifetime, Buddhist in another and into a different religion after that, such wars would become obsolete.

Though this case was not “solved” in that Sandika’s past life persona was not specifically identified, his Buddhist behaviors, which were so much in contrast to his parents’ Catholic beliefs, make this an impressive reincarnation story. That said, there are many solved cases that show that souls, from one lifetime to another, can:

Change Religion, Nationality and Ethnic Affiliation through Reincarnation

Principles of Reincarnation-Understanding Past Lives

Past Life Phobia: Sandika had a phobia of explosive noises, which likely was due to his being killed by a gunshot or a bomb in his previous life.

Past Life Birthmark: When Sandika recoiled at the sound of a loud noise, he would place his hands on a birthmark on his chest, which likely represented an entry wound from a bullet or shrapnel that led to his past life death.

Xenoglossy: During worship, Sandika would recite verses in an unlearned language, which his parents believed was Pali, the language used by Buddhist monks in prayer.

Reincarnation Cases of Robert Cunninghame Graham | Anthony Bourdain and Gabrielle Graham | Ottavia Bourdain; Suicide and Reincarnation

Proposed by: Walter Semkiw, MD

Affirmed by: Spirit Guide Ahtun Re in a Ryerson-Semkiw Reincarnation Research Session

Article by: Walter Semkiw, MD

Joseph Conrad and a Past Life of Anthony Bourdain

I have been of fan of Anthony Bourdain for many years. I enjoy the travel aspect of his shows, as well as his keen intellect, irreverent sense of humor and honesty. As I was watching one of his programs he referred to Joseph Conrad’s novel, Heart of Darkness. At that moment, I had the intuition that in a past life, Bourdain had something to do with Conrad.

At first I though that he may have been Joseph Conrad in a past lifetime, but when I read about Conrad, I realized his personality was opposite to that of Bourdain. When I read that Conrad had a good friend named Robert Bontine Cunninghame Graham, I noted that Graham was very much like Bourdain, in both personality and appearance. In a session with Kevin Ryerson, the spirit being Ahtun Re affirmed that Anthony Bourdain is the reincarnation of Robert Bontine Cunninghame Graham. Place your cursor on images to enlarge them.

The Life of  Robert Bontine Cunninghame Graham & Correspondences with Anthony Bourdain

Graham was born in London, England. After finishing his education in Europe, Graham, like Bourdain, became an adventurer and explorer.  He traveled to Argentina, where he made a great deal of money in the cattle ranching business. Bourdain, by the way, was an unabashed carnivore. Graham also traveled to Morocco, Spain, Mexico and Texas.

Graham was a liberal and a socialist who was elected to the British Parliament. Anthony’s political and societal views were also very liberal. In a most intriguing correspondence, Graham was fond of cursing and he was the first Member of Parliament to be suspended from the House of Commons for swearing (he used the word “damn”). Bourdain is known for swearing on his show, though his curse words are censored on his television programs.

Graham was also a prolific author. Bourdain is the writer of his show and he is a published author. Graham was a friend of Joseph Conrad and in fact, it was Graham who helped Joseph Conrad get his career started by introducing Conrad to Graham’s publisher, Edward Garnett.

Ottavia Busia Bourdain as the Reincarnation Graham’s wife, Gabrielle

In Mexico City, Graham taught fencing. Similarly, Boudain competed in the martial art Brazilian jiu jitsu. His ex-wife, Ottavia, is also a competitive practitioner of jiu-jitsu. Of interest, Ahtun Re has affirmed that Ottavia is the reincarnation of Graham’s wife, Gabrielle Chideock de la Balmondiere. A physical resemblance exists between Gabrielle and Ottavia.

Reincarnation and Suicide

The world was stunned when it was learned that Anthony Bourdain committed suicide on June 8th, 2018, much as the world was dismayed by the suicide of Robin Williams. On one of his recent shows, Bourdain admitted that though he seemed to have it all, he did not feel that “life is good.” Bourdain also admitted that he became suicidal after separating from his first wife, Nancy Putkoski. He also had a history of extensive drug use.

These are signs of biochemical depression, which can make people feel so bad emotionally that the desire to end one’s life can arise. Medications and psychotherapy can reverse such feelings and every effort should be made to seek out treatment. In the United States, help can be accessed through the:

Principles of Reincarnation & Understanding Past Lives

Physical Resemblance in Reincarnation Cases: There is a physical resemblance between Robert Bontine Cunninghame Graham and Anthony Bourdain. There is also a similarity in appearance between Gabrielle Graham and Ottavia Bourdain.

Past Life Talent & Behavior: Like Anthony Bourdain, Graham was a world traveler and adventurer, a liberal and a published author who was known to use curse words.

Relationships Renewed through Reincarnation: Robert Bontine Cunninghame Graham was married to a woman named Gabrielle, who has been identified in contemporary times as Anthony Bourdain’s ex-wife, Ottavia.

Change of Nationality: Graham was born in England, whereas Anthony Bourdain was born in New York City.

The Life and Death of Kristin Grimsson

Kristen was born on November 10, 1925. Her father was Olaf Loftsson and her mother was Elinborg Sigurdsdottir. Olaf and Elinborg had 15 children, all of whom were girls. Two of Kristen’s sisters, Margret and Gudrun, were involved in this reincarnation case. Kristen was Margret’s favorite sister. The family lived in Reykjavik, Iceland. Click on the image of Reykjavik to enlarge it.

When Kristen was 3 years old, she fell and struck the back of her head, causing a wound which bled. As a physician was not available, Olaf stopped the bleeding himself and dressed the wound.

As Kristen grew up, she developed an interest in acting, attended a drama school and performed in plays that were broadcast on the radio.

At 17 years of age, Kristen married Einar Grimsson. They lived in Reykjavik and in fall of 1947 they purchased a house, which had a basement where they placed their washing machine.

On November 6, 1947, Kristin’s sister, Soffia, was visiting the couple. Kristen went to use the wringer of the washing machine and experienced an electric shock. She told Einar about the incident and they decided not to use the machine until an electrician inspected it. Kristen stayed in the basement while Einar went to visit a neighbor.

Suddenly, Soffia, who was upstairs, heard Kristen call for her. Soffia found Kristen with her right arm affixed to the washing machine. Soffia ran to a neighbor to ask for help, who managed to turn the electricity to the house off, but when they went to the basement, Kristen had already died due to electrocution.  She was 22 years old when she passed.

Margret, the sister of Kristen, had a daughter who was born in Reykjavik on January 3, 1967, 19 years after Kristen had died. Margret’s husband was Larus Johannson. The couple were Christians, more specifically, Lutherans. They named their daughter Ditta.

A Reincarnation Announcing Dream with a Talking Baby

ReincarnationEviidenceBabyDuring Margret’s pregnancy, her sister Gudrun, had a dream about their deceased sister, Kristin. In this dream, the following occurred:

Margret and her husband had a newborn baby, and they asked Gudran to take care of the baby while they were out. They left and Gudrun remained alone with the baby. They baby then sat up and began to talk. She said:

“Do you know that I am born again?

Gudren replied: “No, I do not know that.”

The baby then said: “Yes, I was here before…It was difficult to be born and easy to die…”

Then Gudren asked whether she looked the same?

The baby said: “Yes, but I am darker now, darker in complexion and darker hair.”

Then the baby said that she had a scar. Gudrun asked whether the this has to do with her death.

iisisreincarnationresearchbabywithoutreachedarmsThe baby replied: “No. I was over 20 when I died, but I got that scar when I was a little girl. It will go away.”

Then the baby asked about Maria, (another of the daughters of the family, who had been a babysitter for Kristen).

Gudren, upon hearing Maria’s name spoken by the baby said: “Oh, did you know us before?”

At this, the baby laid down again and said: “I do not want to talk about it anymore.”

Gudren interpreted the dream as the baby representing her sister Kristen, as she was the only one in the family who had died.

A Past Life Birthmark

When Ditta was two weeks old, Margret noticed a prominent birthmark at the back of her head above and behind her right ear. This was the same place where Kristen incurred the wound to her head in a fall. Margret and Larus divorced when Diita was a small child.

A Past Life Husband

When Ditta was two years old, Margret noticed that Ditta was playing as an actress. Margret asked her daughter what she wanted to do when she grew up. Ditta replied that she wanted to be an actress. When Ditta was about two and a half years old, Ditta noticed a ring on Margret’s finger.

Ditta asked: “Who gave you that ring?

Margaret replied: “My first husband.”

Ditta then said: “I had a husband too.”

Margret replied: “Little girls do not have husbands.”

Ditta then said: “Well, I have one.”

Margret asked: “Ok. So what is his name.”

Ditta: “Einar.”

Ian Stevenson noted that Margret did not believe that Ditta had ever heard the name Einar, which was the name of Kristen’s husband, as it was over 20 years after Kristen’s death. Einar had remarried and he had no contact with Margret’s family after Kristen’s death. In telling Margret that her husband was Einar, Ditta was conveying that she was the reincarnation of Kristen.

Past Life Talent: Ditta Could Spontaneously Read

An astonishing aspect of this case is that Ditta was able to read without being taught. At the age of six she was better at reading than other children who had been taught to read. Ditta herself was puzzled by this ability. This phenomenon is akin to xenoglossy, where an individual can speak a language which was not learned.

As Ditta grew up, the family noticed that Ditta bore a striking resemblance to Kristen. Both had unusually light blue eyes, though Ditta had darker hair and skin, much as the baby in Gudren’s dream had predicted.

Principles of Reincarnation-Understanding Past Lives

Physical Resemblance: As mentioned above, Ditta looked very much like Kristen.

Past Life Birthmark: Ditta had a birthmark that corresponded to Kristen’s head wound.

Planning Lifetimes and Relationships Renewed through Reincarnation: Kristen reincarnated as the daughter of her sister, Margret. Kristen had been Margret’s favorite sister.

Past Life Talent and Behavior: Ditta was able to read without being taught. She also played at being an actress, replicating Kristen’s affinity for acting.

Spirit Beings in Reincarnation Cases: From the spirit world, the soul of Kristen | Ditta sent an announcing dream to Kristen’s sister, Gruden, indicating that she was born again. Since this dream occurred during Margret’s pregnancy, Kristen was not yet born, but was predicting that she would be. In Gruden’s dream, the talking baby even knew that she would physically resemble Kristen, except for having darker hair and skin.

Reincarnation Case of Virginia Vance | Ellen DeGeneres with Past Lives of Oprah Winfrey and Gayle King

How Derived: Revealed by Spirit Being Ahtun Re in a Ryerson-Semkiw Reincarnation Research Session

Article by: Walter Semkiw, MD

Ellen DeGeneres has always struck me as being a very open-minded person, which made me think that she may be open to reincarnation research. As such, in a session with Kevin Ryerson, who channels a spirit being named Ahtun Re, who has demonstrated the ability to make past life matches with a high degree of accuracy, I asked Ahtun Re for an identifiable past lifetime for her.

Ahtun Re related that Ellen was a silent movie actress who was associated with the comedy actor and producer Fatty Arbuckle.

I passed this information to a collaborator, Ishtar Ishaya, who volunteered to research this case. Shortly afterwards, Ishtar suggested that Ellen may have been Virginia Vance. Sure enough, Virginia Vance was an actress in the Fatty Arbuckle production of My Stars.

In a subsequent session with Kevin, Ahtun Re affirmed that Ellen DeGeneres is the reincarnation of Vance.

Past Lives for Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore and The Ellen DeGeneres Wildlife Fund

Of interest, on the day that I am writing this article, it has been reported that actor Ashton Kutcher and his business partner donated 4 million dollars to The Ellen DeGeneres Wildlife Fund.

A few years ago, I did a presentation on evidence of reincarnation for Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore, when they were still together, at their home in Beverly Hills. Through my work with Kevin Ryerson, I tried to derive past lives for Ashton and Demi. Ahtun Re told me that they were actors and a couple in the New York City theater scene at the turn of the century (1900). Unfortunately, I was not able to find these past life identities. If anyone has knowledge of this theater era, your help would be appreciated. I can be contacted at: walter@reincarnationresearch.com

A Past Life for Oprah Winfrey

Oprah Winfrey is a neighbor of Ellen DeGeneres in the community of Montecito, near Santa Barbara, California. A past life for Oprah is included in my book, Born Again, in which Oprah is identified as the reincarnation of James Wilson, a signer of the Declaration of Independence.

Wilson also taught English literature at the College of Philadelphia, which is consistent with Oprah’s love of books and her famous book club. Wilson also became one of the wealthiest individuals in the new nation of the United States, much like Oprah has created great wealth. Wilson eventually became a lawyer, taught law at the College of Philadelphia and was appointed to the Supreme Court of the United States by George Washington.

A Past Lifetime for Gayle King

Oprah has had a very close relationship with Gayle King since 1976. Gayle had a career as a reporter and television news anchor before she became an editor for O, The Oprah Magazine in 1999. Gayle currently is a co-anchor of CBS This Morning, which I watch every day. I am fond of Gayle’s bubbly and insightful personality.

In my analysis, Oprah and Gayle have become the closest of friends because they were husband and wife during the American Revolution. Through my work with Kevin Ryerson, Gayle has been identified as the second wife of James Wilson, whose maiden name was Hannah Gray. Like Gayle King, Hannah functioned as a reporter in writing a book, A More Obedient Wife: A Novel of the Early Supreme Court.

If Gayle read this book by Hannah, it would be interesting to see if she perceives any continuity of thought or writing style. In the reincarnation case of John B. Gordon | Jeffrey Keene, an analysis of letters written by Gordon and Keene performed by a linguistics professor at the University of California, Berkeley showed a common writing style. Principles of Reincarnation-Understanding Past Lives

Physical Resemblance in Reincarnation Cases: There are similarities in facial architecture in the reincarnation cases involving Ellen DeGeneres, Oprah Winfrey and Gayle King. Click on the images to enlarge them to better study facial features.

Past Life Talent: Virginia Vance was a comedic actress and Ellen DeGeneres has had her own television situation-comedy series entitled Ellen. The parallels between James Wilson | Oprah Winfrey and Hannah Gray | Gayle King were described above.

Relationships Renewed through Reincarnation: James Wilson and Hannah Gray Wilson have been reunited in the Best Female Friends of Oprah Winfrey and Gayle King.

Gender Change through Reincarnation: James Wilson was a male, who reincarnated as Oprah, a female.

Change of Race: James Wilson and Hannah Gray Wilson were Caucasian, while Oprah Winfrey and Gayle King are African-American. Reincarnation research, including cases published by Ian Stevenson, MD of the University of Virginia, show that souls can change religion, nationality, ethnicity and race from one lifetime to another. This observation and understanding can help make the world a more peaceful place, as most wars and conflicts are based on differences in these cultural markers of identity.

Reincarnation Case of William Blake | Alex Grey

Proposed By: Ishtar Ishaya

Affirmed By: Spirit being Ahtun Re in a Ryerson-Semkiw Reincarnation Research Session

It is difficult to adequately communicate the fascinating parallels and connections that run through and reverberate from the life and work of William Blake and Alex Grey. That Alex Grey is a modern day “lineage holder” in the same tradition of sacred visionary art pioneered by William Blake has always been an obvious and visible fact.  Beyond a visual tour of the artwork of Blake and Grey, a reading of Grey’s Mission of Art, his website, or many of his interviews offer a window into the philosophical and spiritual dimensions that inform his output.

On the subject of his other incarnations, Grey himself has actually felt a connection with another visionary artist, the 20th century Belgian Symbolist Jean Delville.  While I had suspected a link between Grey and Blake for some years, I had never really looked into it, and it was during a random stroll through the internet that I discovered a post in which Alex Grey was celebrating the birthday of William Blake at his Chapel of Sacred Mirrors, and it just happened that their birthdays are only one day apart, making it a kind of shared celebration.  Displaying a bust of Blake and honoring Blake’s importance in his work, I instantly realized that in Grey and Blake, I was looking at two emanations of the same soul.

Principles of Reincarnation-Understanding Past Lives

Physical Appearance in Reincarnation CasesGrey and Blake share an above average similarity of appearance, which is especially so in the eyes and the nose.

Past Life TalentAlthough he certainly put work into developing as an artist in this life, the ease and naturalness with which he quickly stepped into his role as one of the world’s preeminent visionary artists points to deep practice and experience derived in other lives devoted to artistic endeavors. If there was an Alex Grey of the 18th century it was William Blake and vice versa.

Anniversary Phenomenon While they weren’t born on the precise same day, their births on back to back days seems slightly more than coincidental.

Change in Nationality: Blake was born in England while Alex Grey is a native of the United States.

Reincarnation Case of William Jennings Bryan | Jeff Daniels

Proposed by: Ishtar Ishaya

Affirmed by: Spirit Being Ahtun Re in a Ryerson-Semkiw Reincarnation Research Session

Article by: Ishtar Ishaya

Over the years I’ve enjoyed the varied performances of Jeff Daniels, from his portrayal of Joshua Lawrence Chamberlain in the movie Gettysburg, his roles in the movies Dumb and Dumber and  Escanaba in Da Moonlight, as well as in the television seriesThe Newsroom.  Between his performances and interviews I was often given the sense that “in another life, he’d make a fine politician.” This sense of Daniels the politician was certainly underlined by his performance in The Newsroom, especially in the opening segment of this show, which has had over 8 million views on YouTube: The Newsroom: Opening Scene

While going through some books and websites on the politics of the Gilded Age, I came across a photo of a younger William Jennings Bryan and immediately recognized the soul of Jeff Daniels. With these two seemingly different lifetimes, the soul is expressing different facets of an archetype common to both politicians and actors.

While not particularly successful at getting elected to high office, Bryan was a renowned, energetic, show-stopping orator who sought to improve the lives of farmers and laborers against the increasing power of the railroads and the large business trusts of the day, while championing bimetallism. He later took up the anti-imperialist cause, resigning as US Secretary of State in protest, supported prohibition and famously opposed Darwinism in the Scopes Trial.  In 1896, as the youngest candidate for President in US history, Bryan crisscrossed the country giving 500 stump speeches in an era when Presidential candidates typically stayed home. Whatever cause he championed, he did so with the energy and flair of a gifted performer.

Principles of Reincarnation-Understanding Past Lives

Physical Resemblance in Reincarnation Cases:  Jeff Daniels and William Jennings Bryan bear a remarkable resemblance to each other. While similar appearance is often coincidental or superficial, there are many strong cases in which it comes into play.  There are a variety of explanations for this, many of which describe some kind of etheric body imprinting mechanism. My own psychic process, and those of many other intuitives, frequently involves the perception of subtle underlying geometries and patterns that give rise to the physical form, that often operate throughout multiple incarnations.

Past Life TalentPossessing the instinctual knack of shining and thriving in the spotlight is a valuable skill for an actor, politician or anyone who leads a very visible life on the world stage. Perhaps for better or worse, there is much overlap in the requisite tools for these professions!

The Book “Spiritual Light” and The Universal Spiritual Brother&Sisterhood (USB): A Shared Spiritual Mission, by John Finnemore, Ph.D

Article by: Engineering Professor John Finnemore, PhD,  Universal Spiritual Brotherhood&Sisterhood Chief Volunteer

In a very rare, recent spiritual event, the most advanced beings (Illumined Souls) in the highest spiritual realms delivered unusually noble and pure spiritual wisdom to humanity on earth through gifted mediums. This wisdom is presented in the book: Spiritual Light: Universal Teachings from the Highest Spirit Realms

Very significant is the great extent to which these illumined teachings agree with Walter Semkiw’s mission and with his understanding of the nature of the soul that he summarizes in his book, Origin of the Soul and the Purpose of Reincarnation, based on his extensive research into reincarnation.

The purpose of the delivery of messages from these Illumined Souls during 1956‒1982 is to spiritualize and unite humanity and to awaken people to the many spiritual realities of life, which they taught is the only way to break down barriers between people, build the brother-and-sisterhood of all people, and so avoid the excessive misery and havoc we create on earth.  (Here, by “spiritualize,” I mean to promote nobility of character, ideals, aspiration, and efforts, with a high level of moral consciousness.)  Dr. Semkiw’s objective, to create a more peaceful world, is much the same.

Reasons why the Illumined Souls’ delivery of this wisdom was very special and rare are:

  • Those souls included the most spiritually exalted beings and some of the greatest prophets, teachers, enlightened beings, and noble souls who have lived on earth.
  • Those beings are so advanced it was very difficult for them to lower their vibrations down to our relatively low (and to them, unpleasant) levels on earth, which they needed to do to be able to communicate directly through exceptional mediums, i.e., without using relays.
  • The teachings they shared were not those of a single teacher, or of a number of individual teachers, but were those that had been agreed upon by many united Great Souls, making them far more reliable;
  • They explained that they have made similar deliveries of wisdom “at the dawn of each new age,” where an “age” is often considered to be about 2000 years long.

The Illumined Souls chose the mediums through whom they communicated.  They chose not only highly skillful mediums, but they also had to have exceptional personal spirituality to make rapport possible.  In the USB’s early years these included the great English mediums Leslie Flint and Estelle Roberts.

As a result of the almost incredible advancement of these Great Souls and their united approach, the teachings they have shared with us are extraordinarily pure.  The inspiring results are documented in their 2014 book, Spiritual Light: Universal Teachings from the Highest Spirit Realms, presented by their organization of spiritual truth on earth, the Universal Spiritual Brother&Sisterhood (USB).  Under their direction, the USB on earth is patterned after the long-existing USB in the high spirit realms and is tasked with the mission to enlighten and share this wisdom with humanity.  You can find more information about the USB and its book on the USB website, https://www.theusb.org/, and from its YouTube videos , its Facebook page (requires login), and its quarterly newsletters.

The USB teachings have been described by authoritative reviewers as “fascinating” (Deepak Chopra), “an encyclopedia of wisdom which should be understood by all humanity” (John White, author and editor of multiple books), “The Spiritualist Bible for the twenty-first Century” (Matthew Hutton, an editor with Psychic World), and “coming from the highest vibration” (Victor and Wendy Zammit).

The beautiful and inspiring teachings in Spiritual Light are not a religion but are presented for all people, regardless of their beliefs, in a down-to-earth, clear, and simple way.  Intended to raise the spiritual level of our lives, they should be of interest to all who wish to reduce the extensive discord, chaos, and suffering on earth.  They address truth, spiritual laws, love, responsibility, spiritual progress, psychic phenomena, life on earth and in the spirit realms, and many related subjects.  The teachers ask us to accept only what our inner being tells us is true and our reason completely embraces.

Those extensive teachings were not dictated.  Instead, the Illumined Souls discussed them through exceptional mediums with their representative on earth, Michael Flagg, so that he could write them up in the language of our times; but they exercised final approval of his writing.  Michael was one of their number, he incarnated specifically to be able to serve them in this way; in this life he worked as an editor while also writing poems and plays and composing songs.

They also asked Michael to form a nonprofit organization to spread their teachings.  They told him he’d been prepared for this work through centuries, by various lives and incarnations.  Audio recordings of Michael discussing the mission and the teachings with Illumined Souls in 1956 and 1957 will be released by the USB before long.

Rare Spirit Communication: A High Spiritual Adventure and Mission

The evidence for the truthfulness of Spiritual Light lies primarily in the wisdom and spirituality of its content.  Teachings by highly spiritual afterlife authorities have occasionally been presented before, in mostly older books, (e.g., Austen, 1938 and Moses, 1949).  But Spiritual Light is very extensive and addresses more ‘technical’ and specific areas that may be of interest.  At their request, the book does not name the illumined spirit teachers, their main reason being that they want people to accept teachings for their content and not because of the teachers’ names.

The need for the spiritual development that these Illumined Souls are encouraging is urgent.  They said earth’s spiritual development severely lags behind its developments in other areas.  They spoke of our present “darkened state” and “the Armageddon of light and darkness that enshrouds your world today.”  Their message emphasizes what can and must be done here and now to remedy our situation.

Purpose of Reincarnation Dean Radin Larry Dossey Walter Semkiw MDThe USB’s book and audio recordings mention, in passing, souls who have lived numerous lifetimes on earth, thus confirming the teaching of reincarnation in Origin of the Soul.  The many other areas of agreement between the teachings from these two independent sources include: that we are all universal, eternal souls that are one with God; that there are so many lessons that need to be learned, only available on earth, that our soul development cannot be achieved in a single lifetime; that personal responsibility is a major law and the earth is our testing ground; that a karmic record is kept of all our deeds and actions; and that in spirit life we have bodies, free of earthly imperfections, where we continue with the same personality, character, and talents.
